involve student classroom/learning environment transmission. BFHD has received clarification from DOH that this

includes outbreaks in kitchen/cafeteria staff or transportation staff (bus drivers) that may affect students.

BFHD and partner agencies have begun to provide vaccinations to “Homebound” 1B-1 eligible people who

need/want a COVID vaccination – EMS agencies across our area will work to provide the vaccinations at the

identified individuals’ homes and wait with the individual for the 15-30 minute after for vaccine evaluation.

BFHD is working on their Phase 1B-2 vaccination plan

Governor Inslee was scheduled to visit the Mass Vaccination site on Tuesday March 9th after his visit to Robert

Frost Elementary School in Pasco, but unfortunately the visit had to be canceled.

The Mass Vaccination site did encounter some “protest” activity on Tuesday March 9th, however nothing that

prevented the site from operating or compromised the safety of the site.

Right now, demand is for vaccine is still higher than supply, but we are getting closer. We are now getting more

than 300,000 doses a week! Here is the latest allocation for the week of March 15. Next week’s allocation is all

Pfizer; there will not be any Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Washington State providers requested

411,230 doses of vaccine; Washington will receive from the Federal Government 334,340 doses.

BFHD continues to work on transportation issues relating to getting people transportation access to locations that

can provide COVID vaccinations (other than the mas vax site) – Ben Franklin Transit, 211, Senior Life Resources,

Aging and Long-term Care and others are all collaborating in this effort.

Richland Senior Association volunteers have been assisting in connecting seniors who are not technologically

savvy with the documents they need (phase finder and PrepMod) for their COVID vaccinations, if you need

assistance you can call 1-800-595-4070

nationwide. The vaccine sent to pharmacies in this program are in addition to the state allocated amount. In our

area pharmacies such as Albertsons, Kroger, and Costco are providing vaccinations. Check the pharmacy website

to find out if they offer COVID-19 vaccine in your community. Please note that early on your local pharmacy may

not have vaccine, or they may have limited supply.

A local partnership with RX Pharmacy in Richland has provided COVID vaccinations to over 20 Adult family Homes

in our community.
