Dear Mr. Garrett:

Thi3 is in response to your letter of February 25, 1985 concerning the Aidex site.

In my letter of November 9, 1984 to the companies identified as potentially ranpcnsibla parties vith respect to the site, I informed the companies that the Environmental Protection Agency (E?A) had selected the remedial response measures to be underathen in response to the release of hazardous substances at the site. Enclosed is a rnnv nf th* ft'card of the Accncvls decision regarding the selection of the response. The alternatives considered are discussed fully in the Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study (P.I/FS) previously provided to the companies.

Prior to the selection of the response for the site, comments on the alternatives recomnended in the P.I/FS were solicited by public notice. The comment period extended from March 8 - March 29, 1994. Although the period set aside for submission of comments on'the alternative responses for the site is long past, we are willing to review and respond to comments from the companies.Ue prefer, however, that the companies submit their comments in writing, which may be followed by a meeting of technical personnel, if warranted.
