CYRIUS Step Lamps


The Cyrius step lamp is a multi-purpose pool and spa luminaire. Due to its compact size, it is suitable for installation as a step lamp or as a high level submerged pool/spa lamp. It features a CREE LEDmodule and is available in 5 different LED colours. The housing is made of 316L stainless steel and is rated to IP68.

All Cyrius lights can be run dry and come complete with a 2m lead asstandard (CY1 model) or with 5m being available as a special order(CY2 model). For extra control, you can connect and control the Cyriusvia the PL-REM or PL-REM200 remote control units.

The Cyrius comes as standard in either warm white (3000K) or coolwhite (6000K) options. Single colour red, green and blue LED coloursare available by special order only.

The SaVi Note from Next Step Products is a slim, compact light unitthat will locate into a standard 1.5” fitting. The advantage with theSaVi Note is that no niches, grounding or bonding will be requiredprior to installation.

A unique feature is the auto-memory that will store the last colourused with the light when it is switched off and restores the light tothat colour on its next power up. Up to 4 SaVi Notes can be controlledvia the M4 controller, which in turn can synchronize with other SaVilights. The M4-DMX controller can control up to 4 SaVi Notesindividually enabling amazing effects to be achieved, including ‘Waveof Colour’.

The SaVi Note is available with 2 cable lengths – 100ft or 150ft.

The SaVi Melody is a slim, compact RGB light unit. NEXT STEP SaVi Blanco


The SaVi Blanco from Next Step Products is a compact pool lightdesigned around the Melody module. The Blanco, like its namesuggests, is a white only unit with a low current draw (0.83A) and just10W of power per light required.

The SaVi Blanco emits approximately 900 lumens of light and isdimmerable. Other features of the SaVi Blanco is that they do notrequire a controller and they can be connected direct 12v AC.

The Blanco Pro is a much higher output version of the Blanco with nearly 2000 lumens output. The Pro version draws 20W at approximately 1.7A.

Fibre optic cable carries only light down its length, meaning no heat,or electricity being required once the light has left the source. Fibre optic is fully waterproof, meaning it can be immersed in watersafely, making it ideal for use in hot tubs, spas and swimming poolilluminations. Installation Notes


Below are a few suggestions to guide you when it comes to thinkingabout fibre optic lens placements in your pool or spa to provide themaximum amount of recommended illumination.

What colour is the surface of the pool?Light or white surfaces reflect light and colour best. Dark surfacesabsorb light and will not show much colour change. More fibre isrequired to light dark pools. Avoid underwater lighting in black pools(Perimeter, however, may be used)

Where is the house in relation to the pool?Lenses should be placed facing AWAY from the house or primaryviewing area. This way the client will only see the wash of colour onthe opposite wall, and will not be staring directly into the light.

How much fibre should I put in each lens?Single lens applications will require a larger fibre size (300 strands)than a multiple lens application (usually 150 strands per lens.)

• Mount lenses 6-9” below water level (see Figure A). Watch forswimouts as lens placement above the bench will cause shadowsand below the bench will be too deep.

• Single lens applications - Mount lens in the deep end of the pool.See example in figure 1 & 2 for reference.

• Multiple lens application - Lenses should be placed facing awayfrom the house or primary viewing area. The average sizedresidential pool will use three lenses on the long wall, shiningacross the width of the pool. See examples in figure 3 & 4 forreference.

• Spa lenses may be placed in the footwell.

• If light source capacity allows, use 25 or 50 strands in a lensassembly to illuminate the steps.

Installation Notes


In the diagrams below, we have shown some designs based around the SV150T6220 Illuminator.

As you can see, by using fibre optics, this has enabled us to light a whole swimming pool area with three different areas using just a single light source instead of multiple powered lamps used by convential pools yet still retaining the maximum levels ofillumination required.

Benefits of this type of setup become apparent when it comes to maintenance, as there is only a single light source to service (bulb change) and a simple wipe clean of the lenses if required, or expansion by the inclusion of a second light source as shown in the bottom diagram.
