Introduction to course

Statement of Cash Flows and related disclosures provide a wealth of information on the financial health of an organisation and a key metric used by management, stakeholders and investors in assessing liquidity and going concern.

There is diversity in the practical application of FRS 7 including what constitutes cash and cash equivalents, to the classification and presentation of activities between operating, investing and financing. In addition, accounting standards such as FRS 116 Leases fundamentally changed the way cash flows for operating leases are presented, whereas FRS 107 Financial Instruments: Disclosures requires disclosure on the significance of financial instruments to an organisation and any liquidity and going concern risks it poses.

This workshop will give participants the confidence to prepare the Statement of Cash Flows in accordance with FRS 7 and classify business activities for proper presentation and disclosure through a mix of theory and practical examples.
