12:45 Public Narrative: The Story of Self
Harness the power of your own story. A “story of self” can establish credibility, facilitate human connection, and mobilize others to work with you toward a shared goal. Participants will shape their own stories, listen to those of others, and consider ways to use this story in day-to-day life.
1:45 Snack Break 2:00 The Danger of a Single Story
Through her TED talk, novelist Chimamanda Ngoze Adichie tells the story of how she found her authentic cultural voice – and warns that if we hear only a single story about others, we risk a critical misunderstanding.
