Aswehavepresentedbefore,theoffenderisunsuccessfulwithoutacommunitywhosupportshim/her.Whetherthiscommunityistheoffender’sfamily,society,thejudge,thejury,ortheprofessionals,iftheoffenderissuccessfulatcreatingamirage,exploitingmisinformationaboutabuse,camouflaginghim/herselfwithagoodimage,beingtoleratedbecauseofvaluethecommunity,ormanipulatinghelpers,heorshewillsucceed.Victimswillcontinuebeingharmed–throughcontact,retaliation,disbelief,acquittals,andpoordecisionmaking.Theworkshopswerechosentohelparmthecommunitytobetterexposetheoffenderandholdthatoffenderaccountablewhiledecreasingtheharmtothevictim.Knowledgeispower.Thisyear’sconferencewillofferfreeyoga/meditationmorningsonThursdayandFridaythankstothegenerosityofAnnFriedenheim.Foranyoneinterested,therewillbea30minuteyogasessionat7:30am.KripaluYogaisagentleformofhathayogawhichcanbepracticedbybeginnersaswellasexperiencedindividuals.Theclasseswillincorporatebreathingtechniques,gentlemovementanddeeprelaxation.Pleasewearcomfortableandlooseclothingandbringayogamatifyouhaveone.Registrationisencouragedbutwalk-insarewelcome.Pleasesignupaheadoftimeorindicateyourinterestonyourregistration!

“VicariousTrauma:CaringfortheCaretaker”–A.Friedenheim,MSDailyexposuretosecondarytraumacanhaveeffectssimilartoposttraumaticstressdisorderandotherstressrelatedproblems.Thistrainingwillbeeducationalandexperiential,addressingtheconceptsofvicarioustraumatization,burnoutandcompassionfatigue.Inaddition,participantswillexaminehowselfcarecanhelpbuildresilienceandtherebyassistinhavinggreaterwellbeingandlongevityinone’schosenfield.Participantswillbeprovidedwithmanysimplepracticesusedindevelopingaselfcarebasedlifestyleanddoaself-assessmentforself-care.Ideasforphysical,mentalandemotionalpracticeswillbesharedandpracticedduringthecourseofthisworkshop.Participantswillleavewithpracticaltechniquestouseintheirlives.
