When a surface is folded, it can create several surfaces, thereby creating space. The University Shop uses thesesurfacestodefineaspacewithin a local grocery store to draw customers to buy university apparel. The vertical surfaces are made out of 3/4” perforated plywood panels with adjustable shelves to allow merchants to change location of the shelving to accommodate their products. BREWED AWAKENING COFFEE SHOP

Brewed Awakening has a vibrant dynamic environment. Its bright palette of color, materials and light is inviting to those who want to wake up. A lime green band (made of recycled plastic) ‘moves’ through the space connecting all the programatic components. It is unifying, unique and functional.

SENIOR STUDIO PROJECTThis class project was an effort todefineaspacewithinalocalgrocery store to display apparel. The faceted ceiling was composed of 1/4” MDF. 50% openness is needed tomeetfirecoderequirementsandthis was achieved by creating 1/4” perforations. Tabs were added to allow the panels to be attached to one another making this design very innovative. The edges of the ceiling piece is lined with wings to help with bowing due to the large span of the panels. The whole faceted design was created using Rhinoceros and cut out using a CNC machine. Once all the pieces were cut and sanded, it was assembled using a number system. Panels are suspended using light gauge wires and attached to the joist above.

Page 15: Undergraduate Interior Design Portfolio
