Course Description:
This course will cover the basics of communication systems. The main topics include:
mobile communication systems, cellular communication concepts, telephone and
switching system, introduction to radar system, radar types and the course will help the
students understanding communication systems that are required for the theoretical
analysis of these systems.
Course Objectives (Learning Outcomes): The objective of this course is to introduce undergraduate students to the fundamentals
of communication systems. The students will become familiar with communication
systems through the following objectives:
Study of mobile communication systems and construction of the GSM system.
Study of telephone and switching system, the human voice and auditory systems
properties
Study of radar system and its types (passive، active، semi active).

Course Description:
This course will cover the basics of how satellite and radio location systems are designed
and deployed. Topics include orbital mechanics, propagation, digital transmission,
global positioning system (GPS), other radio location issues and the course will allow
the students to analyze satellite communication systems.
Course Objectives (Learning Outcomes): To enable the student to become familiar with satellites and satellite services through the
following objectives: Overview of satellite systems in relation to other terrestrial systems.
Study of satellite orbits, launching, types of antenna.
Study of satellite access by various users.
Study of earth segment and space segment components.

Course Description: Generally this course gives the students an introductory knowledge in computer networking. The course mainly concentrate on the functions of the physical layer, data link layer and part of the network layer. Ethernet technology as the most popular LAN technology is described in detail in terms of standards, specifications and implementations. Standard Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Giga bit Ethernet, and 10Gb Ethernet are explained in detail. Ethernet Wireless LAN is also introduced in this course including all Standards and Implementations.
