  • Cesar Delgado Rodriguez Portfolio

  • This portfolio is a compilation of the best projects I have had the opportunity to do throughout my studies.

When designing architecture I give an important place to the consideration of the scale of influences: how an apartment design

can influence the city by the users behavior and how an urban plan can take a very important roll in how a small apartment

and the many other city components have to be designed.

For me, design is the power of reflect reality, needs and expectations of a culture; answering to immediate requirements

and human evolution using knowledge, technology and creativity always thinking in past, present and the future generations.

  • Single Family Social HousingSocial housing in Mexico has a lack of an appropriate attention to design due to the rules that the different construction companies have to follow and the prices they have to respect.

The lack of open space and the no planning of extension capacity make of this units, spaces that do not improve the life quality of its users neither the interaction between the neighbors.

    90m2

Concept puts on priority 50% of open

    space.

Separating constructed areas encourages users to have often contact with open space.

    Group of houses

    1 2 3

Its decided to make a housing development where residences can

be fully distinguished from one to another without generating large

volumes which interrupt the privileged view.

It is also decided the orientation of the houses and an approximate size and

shape taking into account the context and the earth slope.

Due to a better precision that allows the scale, the sizes of houses and their

arrangement got closer to reality and they were modified for the generation

of wider free space that allows the houses to connect each other without

    leaving the property.

Program required five houses on a specific site distinguished by the views

and a surface with a very inclined slope.

  • Group of Houses

Sharing open space allows the new family neighborhood create a network of small courtyards that are connected by a path which with vegetation, views and slope make communication very useful, and pleasant

Shape and materials are the common factor between the houses, this to contribute unification between them and make them be a more peaceful composition with the landscape.

Slope is resolved with little courtyards, which can be acceded from the green walk path trough ramps. They are strategically situated to everyone in the family can have one near to its house.

The project required an urban analysis and intervention in the Tec District, which was just considered as an independent actuation polygon in the city of Monterrey and has a huge project to improve the zone and to promote a high density population polygon. Its decided to look back to previous theoretical analysis made by others in the same area and to collect and use data to understand the situation. After proposing an urban action, its also designed a specific architecture project that forms part of the entire vision.

KUBIKA is a mixed use development project directed to an emergent market in Mexico; tech lovers: modern young people and young families who keep up to the cutting-edge technology and dont have the opportunity to identify themselves with a living, working and shopping existing concept.

For the branding, three concepts were created in a same pattern: KBICA HOME, which includes three different apartment options, KBICA CONNECT, a very sophisticated mall and KBICA INTEL, the best place to have an office in Monterrey
