Easy to install & controlEcofloor Underfloor Heating Mats are a combination ofself-adhesive mesh with a heating cable pre-attached. Themat design enables fast installation & an even heat distributionacross the whole floor. Ecofloor Underfloor Heating Matsare 500mm wide and available in a range of lengths.

Ecofloor Underfloor Heating Mats have a twin conductorcable simplifying installation with a single 3m “cold tail”connection. The finished installation is controlled usingan easy to use, programmable thermostat.

Ecofloor Underfloor Heating Mats are available in 160W/m2

or 200W/m2 heat outputs. The 160W/m2 mat is suitablefor internal applications including kitchens, bathrooms &living areas. The 200W/m2 mat is recommended forconservatories or areas prone to high heat losses.

Install Almost AnywhereEcofloor can be installed on top of either suspendedtimber floors or solid concrete floors enabling installationin all room types. Ecofloor can also be installed undermany floor coverings including:

How Effective Is Under Tile Heating?Ecofloor is a highly effective direct acting radiant heatingsystem. It can provide primary heating or just be used towarm a floor and provide background heat.

A Primary Heat SourceHeat loss calculations should be calculated by your architector heating engineer. As a guide however, if your roomcomplies with the insulation standards in current buildingregulations Ecofloor can be used as a primary heatingsource. Rooms with potentially high heat losses likeconservatories may need a supplementary heat source invery cold days.

Heat-Up TimesThe speed of response of your Ecofloor Untertile HeatingSystem depends on several factors including sub-floorconstruction and tile material & thickness. The tablebelow provide indications of heat-up times for varioussub-floor constructions.

Running CostsThe running costs associated with Ecofloor can berelated directly to the floor heat-up times. A highquality thermal barrier like Ecomax Insulated Tile BackerBoard will significantly slow the process of heat losses intothe sub-floor, improve performance, and reduce the initialwarm-up time therefore reducing the energy consumption.

A 2.5m2 floor in a bathroom fitted with EcomaxInsulated Tile Backer Board on top of an insulatedconcrete sub-floor would cost approximately 7p* perday to run. This is based on the heating system being ontwice a day for two hours each time. This assumes a 50%duty cycle once the floor had reached temperature andassumes a cost of 8p per KwH.

Suspended Floors - Whenfitting Ecofloor to a timbersub-floor it is essential thatyou take the standardprecautions to stabilise thefloor and prevent floormovement. You mustalways over-board thetimber floorboards orchipboard with a surfacesuitable for tiling. Flexelrecommend EcomaxInsulated Tile Backer Boardor primed 18mm WBPPlywood.

Solid Floors - For bestperformance it isrecommended before fittingEcofloor you fit a layer ofEcomax Insulated Tile BackerBoard. This will minimiseheat losses & ensure quickerheat-up times for the floor.Ecofloor can be laid directlyonto an un-insulated floorHowever this will slowheat-up times & increaserunning costs.
