Being well prepared starts with u_______________________ the mission.

Preparing for God’s mission must involve preparing o__________________.

For this coming week:

• If you haven’t already, I encourage you to pick up and Reach Prayer Card and follow the five simple steps.

• If you have filled out your 8-15, be praying about ways you might be able to invest in one of your 8-15 and/or invite them to a faith event.

• Take some time to write out what it means for you to be a Christian. Then read it out loud and see if it takes longer than 90 seconds.

Life Group Questions to Consider

Use these questions as guidance to help get the discussion rolling when you meet with your REACH Life Group

Scriptures: 1 Peter 2:1-3, 9-10 and Ephesians 2:4-10

CONNECTION: When was the last event you had to prepare for? What were all the details you had to think about and prepare for? Can you think of a time when you were unprepared for something? OBSERVATION: In 1 Peter 2:9-10, which one of the descriptions grabs your attention and why? Which one might you have a question about what Peter means? In Ephesians 2:4-10, what phrase or statement gets your attention and why? As you read the passage, how does it make you feel? INTERPRETATION: What does it mean to be, ‘dead in transgressions/sin’? What do you think Paul is trying to get at when he says that, ‘God raised us up with Christ and seated us in the heavenly realms? On a scale of 1-10 (1=Easy to accept and 10=difficult to accept) where are you when it comes to accepting/believing that you are saved by grace and not by works? How do you understand Pauls’ statement about our good works having been prepared in advance for us? APPLICATION: Note: The purpose of this exercise is not to pass judgment or ‘grade’ what a person writes. It is, instead, an exercise in which we can encourage each other to be prepared to share our testimony/faith story with someone who may not be a believer. Each person takes some time to write out what you would say to a person if they were to ask you, tell me about your Christian faith. If there is time and on a volunteer basis, people can read out loud what they wrote and others in the group can react and/or give feedback. No one should feel compelled to share.
