A grand and gorgeous fancy dress competition was held at DPS Gaya on 5th and 6th December 2017. The children from classes Pre-Nursery to I participated in this competition. It was the most awaited event, as it is always a pleasure to watch the toddlers dressed up in different characters and mesmerize the audience with their vibrant costumes and witty dialogues. While some participants presented various bollywood characters like Chulbul Pandey, Gabbar Singh, Umrao Jaan, Basanti, Anarkali, Shahrukh Khan, Shammi Kapoor etc, others came dressed up as various Gods and Goddesses like Lord Hanuman, Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna, Goddess Durga, Goddess Laxmi, Goddess Saraswati. Several dignitaries like Mr. Ram Naresh Sharma, Chairman of Magadh Educational Trust, Sri Manoj Kumar, Commandant S.S.B. and Dr. Ratan Kumar, renowned surgeon graced the programme on both the days. Both the teachers and the parents were present to witness the programme and provide m o r a l s u p p o r t t o t h e l i t t l e participants. Overall it was an outstanding event which would be etched in our memory for a long time.

FANCY DRESS COMPETITION : CLASS I


HOUSE FUNCTION: ARYABHATTA HOUSEDPS Gaya organized a two day house function for the session 2017-18 on 7th and 8th Dec. at its campus amidst great zeal, zest and exuberance. The entire school participated whole heartedly towards the success of this grand event. The triumph was made possible by the relentless effort of our principal Mr. Abhishek Kumar. The participants of all the four houses � Aryabhatta, Ashoka, Buddha and Chanakya spell bound the audience with their exuberance and unmatched zeal. Both the day commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial camp by the chief guest escorted by the Principal. The students of each house paid obeisance to the Almighty through various vandanas which were amalgamations of different classical forms. The tiny tots rejuvenated everyone with their scintillating performance of popular fairy tales like Cinderella, Snow White etc. An array of international Dance performances like � Chinese, African, Arabian, Russian ballet, Flamingo, Salsa as well as various folk dance depicting the rich and vibrant culture of various states of Indian enthralled everyone. Each house showcased a mythological dance drama which instilled within the audience a sense of positivity and faith in Almighty. There was also a special prize distribution ceremony held in each houses wherein the high achievers received prizes from the chief guest amidst the roaring applause of the audience. Principal Abhishek Kumar in his speech acknowledged the teachers and thanked the esteemed guests for attending the event despite their busy schedule.

STORY TELLING SESSIONA story telling session was conducted for classes Pre-Nursery to II and session on Effective Communication and tips on Body Language was conducted for classes IV & V by Ms. Saswati Satpathy, where she shared the joy of books and impact of effective communication in her own innovative ways. The children along with their props enjoyed being the part of the session. Date 15.12.2015

With a motive to instill a sense of competitive spirit and to develop basketball skill spirit among students, DPS Gaya organized an Inter Class Basketball Competition for the students of senior wings on 16,12,2018. The students actively participated and exerted effort to clinch the �rst position. In the nail-biting competition, the students of class X emerged winner while the participants of class IX secured the 2nd position.

DPS witnessed an exuberant celebration of Christmas at its campus. A special assembly was conducted in which students performed group songs and dance on the theme of Christmas. The entire campus was decorated with stars, balloons, bells, caps etc. The surprise of the day was the Santa Claus who appeared with a bag full of chocolates and distributed them among students.

To celebrate the festive fever of Christmas, students of classes Pre-Nursery to II participated in various craft activities in their respective classes. They prepared props like Santa's Hat, Starts, Bells, Beard & Mustaches and Santa Claus of paper cups etc.

Students of DPS Gaya received a trophy as a gesture of appreciation for their intercultural and social welfare activities from 'Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th GYALWA KARMPA'. The funtion was held at Bodhi Tree School Campus, Bodhgaya. Date: 13.12.2017

MAGIC SHOWA Magic Show was organised for our students on 27th December 2017

Students of DPS Gaya participated in World's largest human chain organised by Govt. of Bihar against Child Marriage and Dowry.

Annual Sports Day was conducted for Primary Wing on 23rd January 2018, where students participated enthusiastically with full determination to win. Various events like Run with Ball, Rabbit Race, Cone Relay Race, One Leg Race, Crocodile Relay Race, Back & Front Running Race and Back Loading Relay Race. were conducted. The event was concluded by felicitating the winners with medals and certi�cates.

Students of Classes Pre-Nursery to III participated in various activities to celebrate the 69th Republic Day on 25 January 2018 . They showed great enthusiasm on this auspicious occasion.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

To manage and control stress through sc ien t i�c b rea th ing techn iques o f meditation, DPS Gaya organised a Yoga session for students and their parents. The purpose of the session was to create awareness attaining hol ist ic health awareness using Yoga techniques. The session was conducted by Acharya Somnath, Post Graduate in Yoga Psychology and a disciple of Swami Niranjan of Bihar School of Yo g a , M u n g e r a n d M s . A n u r a d h a Vishwakarma, also a graduate in Yoga from Patanjali Yogpeeth , Haridwar.

YOGA SESSION FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS

WORKSHOP ON SYNTHETIC PHONICS A workshop was conducted on the topic "Synthetic Phonics" by Ms. Saswati Satpathy for the teachers of classes Pre-Nursery to III, where in the teachers learnt different speaking & pronunciation skills. The teachers enthusiastically participated to make the workshop highly interactive. Date: 16.12.2017
