Two artists took a studio tea break in one of their studios.

Whilst chatting, one scribbled away.When he stopped the other suggested she continue the drawing.

Five years on, HÉRAIL JÄGER JACKSON look back at a significant body of work.

Aude HÉRAIL JÄGER and Kevin JACKSON exchanged and re-exchanged the developing drawing by sliding it under the other’s studio door. Soon, two more were added which became a first complete work, the triptych, Fragile Footprint.

They decided to continue the process with the three conditions, that :

- work is exchanged by pushing it under the other’s studio door,- there is no time pressure,- and any intervention is permitted.

A wordless, responsive investigation takes place as the artists develop and defend opinions visually.

The results are wide-ranging on supports as diverse as paper, tissues, tracing film,

newsprint, board, canvas, traditional printmaking and new media.
