Provisions in APPR Act• APPR Act was initiated after the 73rd Amendment.• According this Act State Election Commission was
Constituted.• State Finance Commission has completed three
consecutive terms and the 4th is due.• Three Terms of Elected Representatives was
completed successfully and awaiting for the 4th cycle of Elections.
• 33.3% reservation was provided to women in Local Bodies according to the Sec. 15 (d) of APPR Act.
• 50% reservation is going to be provided from 4th cycle elections onwards in PRIs.

• Three Consecutive Elections were held in the years 1996, 2001 and 2006.

• Orientation Workshop on Gender and Governance for Designing of Assessment Tool held on 11th & 12th of May' 2011 at NIRD.
• In this workshop we have been asked for conduct of TNA workshop for Elected women representatives of Project area districts.
• Accordingly TNA workshop was conducted at ETC, Samalkota on 21.5.2011 for Elected Women representatives of Project area districts i.e. Srikakulam & Vizianagaram.
