EDITORIAL ANNOUNCEMENTThe Editorial Board of the UMYU Journal of Microbiology Research (UJMR) of the Department ofMicrobiology, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina State ispleased to inform the general public that its first edition will come out by December, 2016. It is therefore usingthis medium to encourage all authors, research institutes and industries to participate actively in thedissemination of their works through UMYU Journal of Microbiology Research. Below, are the general guidelines for authors:

GUIDE TO AUTHORS

Aim and Scope of the JournalUMYU Journal of Microbiology Research (UJMR) is the official Journal of the Department of Microbiology,Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina State. UJMR is aninternational Journal dedicated to publishing original research works, technical reports and critical reviews on abroad range of topics of general interest in areas of Medical, Environmental, Industrial, Agricultural, PublicHeath, Food and other aspects of Microbiology. The journal is biannual, published in the months of June andDecember. All papers accepted for publication in UJMR will appear simultaneously in the print journal andonline. The editors, therefore, welcome submissions of original manuscripts that have not been published orconsidered elsewhere for publishing.

Editorial Process:

Articles for publication should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief, UJMR, Department of Microbiology, Faculty ofNatural and Applied Sciences, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, P.M.B 2218, Katsina, Katsina State, Nigeriaor through the Journal email address: [email protected]. Authors are to submit 3 hard copies ofthe manuscripts along with a processing fee of N 3,000.00 or for electronic copies, scanned copy of evidence ofpayment should be attached. Articles not accompanied by processing fees will not be processed.

Manuscripts should be readable and computer typed in English Language on white A4 paper, portrait, doublespaced throughout leaving 1” wide margin on both sides and they should appear in the following order: Title,Authors Name(s) and address(es), abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results, tables, discussions,conclusions, recommendation(s), acknowledgement, references, figures and plates. The articles should bepreferably in MS word format and should not exceed 12 pages. Any additional page attracts extra charge.

Articles will be peer reviewed by at least two different reviewers to ensure high standard and the decision onpublishing a paper will be based on the comments of the reviewers. Upon acceptance of paper for publication,the corresponding author must submit the hard copies and CD versions of both the original and corrected papersor through the Journal email and a publication fee of N 7,000.00 (within Nigeria) or 150 USD (outside Nigeria).
