Due to the nature of the city-wide affiliation of our NPHC chapters in Saint Louis it is difficult to gain student organization recognition on

any campus other than the one on which the chapter is chartered. UMSL only has one chapter whose charter is here, Sigma Gamma

Rho. In an effort to provide UMSL students greater awareness and access to NPHC organizations, Student Life has worked to engaged

the NPHC chapters to host events on campus through an organization called the Multi Greek Council. This organization is a collective of

UMSL students who are active members across NPHC organizations. We continue to actively work to build a stronger relationship

between our campus and each of the city-wide chapters.

Beginning in Summer 2014, New Student Programs received strategic planning funds to pilot the Triton Overnight Experience. Two

Summer Orientation dates provided the opportunity for new students attending the program to stay on campus in Oak Hall the evening

beforehand. Triton Overnight Experience allows students the opportunity to become more familiar with our on-campus housing

facilities, to interact with other new students, and to build meaningful connections with our Orientation Leaders. This program is

planned to continue during the Summer 2015 program.
