ISO 14001 requires UMR to define the environmental responsibilities of all employees, and requires top management to provide the resources necessary to ensure continual environmental improvement

ISO 14001 certification audits are conducted twice a year at UMR

All UMR employees are expected to be prepared for EMS audits

Energy Reduction Program

Objective:Reduce solid waste disposal costs & improve campus recycling

Target:•10% cost reduction by 2003•Develop campus-wide awareness program by Spring 2003•Obtain external funding to support improved campus recycling by Spring 2003
