WHY DID WE DO THIS?

The Meta-Model provides a reference model for anyone to understand the BIZBOK elements and how they relate to each other.

The Meta-Model provides a consistent view of the BIZBOK which can be leveraged by tool vendors to integrate Business Architecture.

We hope it will inform future versions of the BIZBOK to ensure consistency among the sections.

At its heart, Enterprise Architect is a UML®

modelling tool.

Enterprise Architect® implements the UML Profile extensibility mechanism.

This allows the tool to support other notations such as:

Archimate, TOGAF, Zachman, BPMN …

The meta-model was used as a source to describe the constructs of the BIZBOK for Enterprise Architect.

Combined with some scripts to automate certain tasks, the result was the first version of the extension for Enterprise Architect.
