HEAD COACH
Long-time Division I Head Coach Mark Pryor became the head coach of
the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball program on April 25,
2019. He guided the Cru to a 24-8 overall record, a 15-0 mark in ASC
play and a spot in the ASC Championship Match in his first season at
UMHB. Pryor came to Mary Hardin-Baylor after a successful five-year
run as the Head Volleyball Coach at the University of North Dakota. He
led the Fighting Hawks to a 117-58 record, two Big Sky Conference
Tournament Championships and a Big Sky Conference regular season
title. Pryor also guided UND to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances
and was named Big Sky Coach of the Year in 2016. Pryor has also been
a head coach at Texas A&M-Commerce, Louisiana-Monroe and
Southwest Baptist University. He won Lone Star Conference Coach of
the Year honors at TAMU-Commerce in 2009 and earned Southland
Conference Coach of the Year honors at ULM following the 2005
season. He has trained three All-Americans, three conference Liberos of
the Year, a conference MVP and three NCAA statistical national
champions during his career. Pryor has recruited three top 20 ranked
recruiting classes during his time at Baylor. Pryor graduated from
Baylor University in 1995 with degrees in Speech Communication and
Journalism. He earned a Master of Arts in Communication from
Louisiana-Monroe in 1998. Pryor and his wife, Amanda, have two sons,
Myles and Mason.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT COACH
Jacey Smith joined UMHB as a graduate assistant coach for thevolleyball program in August of 2019. She is working on her Master'sDegree in sport administration.Smith comes to UMHB after a standoutplaying career at Abilene Christian University. Smith was a four-yearstarter for the Wildcats and was a two-time All-Southland Conferenceselection. She also earned a spot on the SLC All-Tournament Team in2017 and was a three-time Academic All-Conference honoree. Smithhas coaching experience at the ACU Volleyball Camp and as a privatelessons instructor. She has also worked at the Wimberley ISD Speedand Strength Camp and as an intern in the ACU Athletics Marketingand Promotions office. Smith also volunteered with severalorganizations during her career at ACU.Smith graduated from AbileneChristian in May 2019 with a degree in Kinesiology, Sport andRecreation Management. She earned Dean's List honors in each of herfour years on campus and was a Presidential Scholarship recipient.

ELITE OVERNIGHT CAMP

This camp will focus on reviewing the basic skills of passing,defending, setting, attacking, and blocking. Additionally, eachsegment will consist of positional work to go more in depth tothe specific responsibilities of each position. Each sessions willconclude with scrimmages. Includes camp bag and meals.
This is a great opportunity for the student athlete to focus on allsix skills; serving, blocking, passing, setting, hitting, and digging. Players will be divided by age as well as skill level to ensurethat they have a productive experience, and they get as manyrepetitions as possible to allow them to become more proficientin each skill.
This camp is designed for the high school volleyball player whowishes to train at a higher level. Camp sessions will be run justlike collegiate practices, so players will be exposed to fast paceddrills that will challenge them physically and mentally. It is agreat opportunity to advance your overall game gearing up foryour high school season. (per NCAA rules camp may be limitedonly by number of players, age, grade level, and gender) playersmust graduate in 2020, 2021, or 2022, or 2023 to attend elitecamp)
This camp will train attacking from the left side, middle, andrightside. The camp will focus on approach footwork, armswing, blocking movement, and defense. Includes camp bagand lunch.
The liberos will focus on passing movement, theirplatform, defensive moves, and serving. Setters will workon footwork, hand placement, location, and othertechniques necessary for success.
CAMP INFORMATIONAll camps will be held at the Mayborn Campus Rec Center.Check-in for any day camps will 15 minutes prior to the firstsession. Further information will be provided for over-nightcamps at a later date.
Refunds will not be processed after July 1st. Campers should wear athletic gear, knee pads, and bringtheir own water bottle. Upon registering for camp, you willreceive a confirmation email from Mark Pryor. If you haveany additional questions, please email [email protected]
