3 Connecting devices

Using CAT 5 or CAT 6 cables and a

DB-9 console adaptor, connect the

appropriate serial and service processor

devices to the corresponding ports on

the appliance.

WARNING: Connected serial devices

should not exceed +/-13V.

4 Connecting locally or through the

Console port

The UMG appliance can be configured

and managed either via the VGA console

or the CLI Setup port. On the front of

on the appliance. Terminal settings

requirements are: 9600, 8, N and 1, with

no flow control and ANSI emulation.

To assign the IP address using the VGA

console:

a. Log in to the UMG using admin as both the username and password.

b. Click the Administration button,

c. Click the Network Settings folder.
