Our assets have grown from $9 to more than $570 million. Today UMCU proudly services its members at six Ann Arbor offices, one Ypsilanti office, a branch on the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus, and soon a virtual branch on the campus of the University of Michigan-Flint. With more than 30,000 CO-OP ATMs and over 4,000 shared branches nationwide, UMCU continues to serve its members across the country.

To celebrate 60 years of serving you, we have been awarding $36,000 in cash prizes throughout the year! Each month from March until December, four lucky members will win $600, and two members will win the GRAND PRIZE of $6,000 at the end of the year!

Thank you to all our members. It has been our pleasure to serve you!

5th Annual Money War!The members of UMCU have been challenged by the Credit Union of Ohio to see who can collect the most money for charity. All monies will go to the Charles Woodson Clinical Research Fund at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. The fund provides money for research to advance the treatment of illnesses that affect children including but not limited to cancer, congenital heart disease, sickle cell and kidney disorders and developmental conditions like autism.

Last year, UMCU and its members raised $3,385.15 to benefit the Charles Woodson Clinical Research Fund and this year we’re seeking to double that amount with your help!

Each branch will have donation buckets in the lobby during the week of November 24th – 29th, or you can make a donation securely online at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital by visiting giving.umich.edu/give/mott-woodson-umcu. Mark your calendar to contribute to this great cause!

International Credit Union DayThis year's International Credit Union (ICU) Day will take place on Oct. 16, 2014. Our theme, ”Local Service. Global Good.,” emphasizes credit unions' positive impact in their communities and around the world.

ICU Day has been celebrated on the third Thursday of October since 1948. Its purpose is to reflect upon the history of the Credit Union Movement and promote its achievements. It is also a day to honor those who have dedicated their lives to the movement, recognize the hard work of those working in the credit union industry and show members our appreciation.

”ICU Day was established to acknowledge credit unions' strong base in their communities, both local and global,” said Brian Branch, World Council president and CEO. ”This year's theme champions the credit union model by shining light on the industry's support of charity causes at the local, national and international levels.”

This year, UMCU staff participated in United Way’s Day of Action, held a clothing drive for the benefit of House By the Side of the Road, a local Ann Arbor charity, raised funds, held a food drive and worked at the warehouse for Food Gatherers. UMCU staff also participated in Washtenaw County’s Relay for Life and the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk/5k run.

“As a credit union, we have a people helping people philosophy. We not only believe in helping our members create and maintain a healthy financial future, but we also believe in reaching out to our community and giving back.” says Harriet Hughes, Assistant Vice President of Community Relations and Education, University of Michigan Credit Union.
