Who are SCL?
SCL are the world’s leading independent prepaid point of sale systems provider.
They entered the prepaid industry in 2003 through a successful gift card project with
Westfield U.S and now have a number of multi-national clients across a range of
sectors including travel, retail and banking.
What is UltraPoS?
UltraPoS is a Software as a Service (S.a.a.S) based system which manages the
inventory and sale of prepaid cards. However, other financial and non-financial
products such as premium packaging for gift cards, contactless mobile phone
accessories and other sundry items can also be sold using the same software.
Why do I need it?
Currently in use in over 6000 outlets worldwide, UltraPoS is a cost effective, time
saving tool which provides a centralised, real-time view over an entire prepaid
operation from one central place. The information collected by UltraPoS enables
accurate sales and trend analysis, optimised distribution and efficient staff
management.
What do I need to run UltraPoS? An internet-connected PC, receipt printer and optionally a USB magnetic card
stripe reader are all that is needed to run UltraPoS from a customer services desk.
SCL host the service which can be integrated seamlessly with a client’s internal
financial systems, such as reconciliation and general ledger, as well as third party
systems for example, external settlement and processing platforms. The UltraPoS
user interface is intuitive & only needs familiarity with Windows and Internet Explorer,
minimising training requirements.

UltraPoS in the Prepaid Life Cycle
Processor sends card data to the manufacturer
Manufacturer sends an electronic stock file to UltraPoS
Manufacturer sends the physical stock to the seller
Seller uses UltraPoS to issue a card to the customer, payment is taken, stock is removed
from the inventory and charges and exchange rates are calculated.
UltraPoS sends a message to the processor to fund and activate the card. Message sent
back to UltraPoS confirming authorisation. Receipt generated.
The money from the customer goes in to a holding account
Customer uses the card to purchase an item. A message is sent to the processor to
process the payment. The money leaves the holding account and is passed to the
retailer

sales channels, such as handheld devices and

Secure SCL are PCI DSS Certified (Level 1 Service Provider)
ensuring all data is handled correctly and securely.
UltraPoS enables customers to fulfil their KYC (Know
Your Customer) requirements by mandating the
capture of customer information in-line with a card
programme’s compliance regime, optionally
verifying information through links to external
agencies. It can also be readily customised to
reflect local regulatory requirements.
