Helicopter Charters: Soaring Above the Traffic to Your Destination To make a true VIP entrance after your arrival at the Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport or to simply soar above the traffic and the clouds to a holiday destination up north or to a beach somewhere in the south, chartering a helicopter is an excellent way to save time and to make a truly grand entrance. Moreover, those who choose to move about Bangkok via helicopter will have a number of helipads to choose from for landing options including ones on top of or near Chartered Square, CAT Tower,
Phayathai Plaza, Shangarila Hotel, Windsor Suite Hotel, Jasmin International Tower, Jewelry Trade Center, Empire Tower, Srijulsup, Thai CC Tower, Advance Aviation (Rom Klao Rd. about 15 minutes from the Suvarnabhumi Airport), Peninsula Bangkok (the best helipad of Asia but it is only available for use by hotel guests), Charn Issara II Tower (New Petchaburi Rd.), UBC II Tower (Sukhumvit 33 Rd.), Amari Atrium and Smithiveth Hospital. However, it should be noted that many helipads around the city now require or will soon require permission to land while some hotels may restrict usage of their

In addition, a third EC1 model that will feature 12 seats is also set to be delivered in 2010. In Bangkok, Advance Aviation deals with more than 20 helipads around the city plus more than 100 other destinations including Pattaya and Hua Hin which take about 35 minutes and 45 minutes respectively to reach. This includes “Flying Your Dream Bangkok” which will take a minimum of four passengers from the Advance Aviation base near the Suvarnabhumi Airport for a 35 minute flying tour that will include views of the National Stadium, Lumpini Park, Silom Road, Chao Phaya River, Grand Palace, Sathorn Road, Empire Tower, and Banyantree Hotel. Price per seat is 9,999 Baht (US$290) exclusive of 7% VAT and one complimentary bottle of champagne plus a Polaroid photo is included. Meanwhile, “Flying Your Dream Phuket” will also take a minimum of four passengers (or a maximum of six) from the Advance Aviation base near the Phuket airport for a 30 minute flying tour that will include views of the shrimp farms, fishermen boats, Phang N’ga Bay, James Bond Island, and the Muslim floating village. Price per seat is 9,999 Baht (US$290) exclusive of 7% VAT and included is roundtrip transportation to and from a hotel plus one complimentary bottle of champagne.

In addition to Advance Aviation, Innovative Flying Services also offers helicopter and aircraft chartering services as well. For a helicopter charter from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport to any landing site in the city center, expect a 15 minute flight that will cost around US$2,286 or 80,000 Baht. For a 45 minute flight from an operations center to Pattaya, expect to pay approximately US$4,286. So whether you want to make a grand entrance worthy of a true VIP or just avoid the traffic on the way to and from the airport or to your holiday destination, consider flying via a chartered helicopter and you will never want to be driven again to another destination.
