Coomera Houseboat Holidays have been the leading houseboat holiday company for over 30 years. We pride ourselves on having the largest, safest, most modern, cleanest and best equipped range of houseboats and cruisers in QLD. We love what we do and have the single goal of ensuring you have a safe and wonderful holiday away with us.

Q. Do I need a licence to hire/drive a Coomera houseboat?A. With the exception of The Prestige, no license or experience is necessary to hire and drive a Coomera houseboat. We ask that you be over 18 years of age and have a good dash of common sense. We will brief you fully on the operation of the boat, teach you the rules of the water and then your holiday begins. Q. What if I need help while I am out on the water?A. We pride ourselves on our service to you on and off the water. If you have any queries or problems while you are on the water just call us and we will assist you asap.Q. What is my cruising area?A. Your cruising area is one of the safest marine calm water cruising grounds in the world. You can travel from Wave Break Island in the south to the top of Russel Island in the north and have complete protection with South and North Stradbroke Islands to the east. Q. What is on my boat?A. Your boat is fully equipped pretty much like a holiday apartment and you will find a comprehensive check list for each boat on our web siteQ. What do I have to bring?A. Bring your food, drinks, personal toiletries, sharp knife, torch, beach towels, music, mobile phone, fishing gear, bucket and some good company to share the good times with.Q. Is there secured car parking?A. Yes, we have our own lock up, flood lit car park with 24 hour security. We charge a modest fee of $15 per weekend, $20 midweek and $30 for 7 nights parking per car. Complimentary boat trailer parking available.Q. Can I bring my own tinnie to tow behind the houseboat?A. Yes, you are most welcome to bring your own tinnie to tow behind the houseboat and we will direct you to our free on-site launching facility.Q. Can I buy ice and bait from you?A. Yes, we have fully stocked bait and tackle shop, block & party ice, drinks and souvenirs available on site.Q. Can I bring my pet on board the boat?A. Unfortunately pets are not allowed on the boats and are prohibited in all national parks within the Moreton Bay Marine Park.Q. How do I pay for fuel I use?A. Fuel is charged out at a set rate for every hour the engine is operating, or part thereof. Different boats may have different rates and you can find the hourly fuel rate for each boat in our price section in this flyer. Q. How can I make a booking?A Simply phone us, call into our office, book on-line or send us an email, it’s all too easy!Depsoits on bookings are $600 and balance of hire payments are due 14 days prior to charter, but 60 days prior to charter during our peak season periods such as Christmas, New Years, Easter and Long Weekends.Q. What if I have to cancel?A. All cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellations made with 30 days notice or more, (60 days for peak times) will receive a full refund less $75 admin fee. Cancellations made within 30 days of charter date, (60 days for peak times) no refund will be made unless a replacement booking can be obtained at brochure price.Q. Is Travel Insurance recommended?A. Coomera Houseboat Holidays always recommends Travel Insurance for any unforeseen circumstance that may affect your holiday plans.Q. What is the security bond, how much do I have to pay & when will I get it back?A. On arrival you are required to lodge a security bond for the houseboat. The amount of the bond will depend on whether you have hired a category 1 or category 2 vessel. Category 1 bond is $1500 and category 2 bond is $2000.See vessel categories in our price list. Security bonds are preferred to be lodged by credit card on the day of departure or pre-paid by direct deposit. Usually we will clear your bond back to you on the day of your return after an inventory check and providing the vessel has been returned clean and tidy and without loss or damage. We do however reserve the right to take up to 7 days to return bonds or confiscate bonds or part thereof if damages or losses occur as a result of your hiring the vesselQ. Can I pay to reduce the amount of the bond?A. Yes, for an extra fee of $100 you may be able to half the amount of the bond. Special conditions apply to be eligible for our ‘BOND REDUCTION OPTION’ see our web site for more details or ask our friendly staff.Q. What happens when I return from my houseboat holiday?A. When you return back to our marina our qualified briefing staff will park you safely up and help you dis-embark. We will finalise your outstanding fuel account, clear your bond, farewell you and look forward to seeing you again, very few people only ever go houseboating with us just once!
