The Kyoto Protocol is a protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC or FCCC), aimed at fighting global warming.

IPCC, The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is the leading body for the assessment of climate change, established by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) to provide the world with a clear scientific view on the current state of climate change and its potential environmental and socio-economic consequences.

The parties to the convention have met annually from 1995 in Conferences of the Parties (COP) to assess progress in dealing with climate change

Sweden’s 16 Environmental Objectives

The negative pressures on the environment and human health resulting from consumption in Sweden need to be reduced, both inside and outside the country’s borders. That is one of the points raised by the Environmental Objectives Council in its latest report to the Swedish Government, de Facto 2010.
