AND PLAY…IN ENGLAND!

Royal Connections HRH Prince Michael of Kent is patron of the Oxford Quality programme, provided in partnership by RELOD and UK2Learn, which aims to help educational institutions in Russia provide better quality English education.

In 2009 UK2Learn had the great honour of welcoming HRH to the programme celebrations where he enjoyed meeting students, teachers and parents. UK2Learn is honoured that HRH fully supports the aims and objects of this programme.

Charity Support UK2Learn is proud to support the Kwasa Centre in South Africa. The Kwasa Centre is in an incredibly deprived area of South Africa and helps meet the needs of children infected or affected by HIV and AIDS. It provides a safe and secure environment for more than 200 children.

Having lived in Africa as a child, the Kwasa Centre is close to Suzie’s (founder) heart and therefore it is the centre of UK2Learn’s fundraising efforts. More than £2,000 has been raised in the past three years, which has helped purchase equipment for the school, bicycles for the young children and the sponsorship of one of the children for a year.

The Venue

The exclusive host of the UK2Learn Easter programme is the stunning Prior’s Field School in Godalming, Surrey. Set in 26 acres of beautiful countryside, the school supports boarding and day students aged 11 - 18.

This traditional English boarding school boasts a wonderful family atmosphere which everyone adores.

Course DetailsUK2Learn offers an excellent choice of subjects in a dynamic and highly motivating learning environment.

As a unique feature, UK students also join these programmes to learn new skills alongside our international students. While international students are studying EFL or British culture, the UK students also learn a foreign language such as Russian, Thai or Chinese creating an opportunity to build long-lasting overseas friendships; what better way to practice a new language!

“I loved my time in the UK, I had lots of fun and have made some English friends. I can’t wait to come back again next year!”

Russian student

“I studied the drama course and it was very good. We helped produce a show to celebrate our trip - that was my favourite part.”

Excel In English!ScheduleIn the morning, students are divided into groups according to age and language ability to study:

English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and British culture

In the afternoon, students select one from the following:

Art & photography Business and marketingDramaFilm-making

Art & Photography This is a highly practical and enjoyable course that focuses on images, colour and different materials. Students are encouraged to have fun using their cameras; the perfect photograph opportunity could be just around the corner!

Throughout the course students continuously use the photographs to express their growing knowledge of the British culture. Students also develop individual sketch books during the course, which they can keep.

Business and MarketingThis is the perfect choice for students who wish to gain a glimpse into the dynamic business world. There is an opportunity to build appropriate vocabulary related to business and marketing while developing a basic understanding of current theory and practice in marketing.

It is exciting and challenging and enables students to build their English language abilities in a business context.

www.uk2learn.com

DramaThis covers the fundamentals of drama combined with practice and performance techniques; it is a truly unique and fun way to learn English.

Students also learn how actors and actresses use their voice and body correctly on stage to ensure they are in tip top condition to put on a spectacular end of programme production. In addition improvisation, presentation and creative writing skills are also developed.

English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and British CultureThis is an exciting combination of subjects where students learn about the social, cultural and traditional aspects of British life.

Students are given the opportunity to develop their English conversation and language skills as well as discovering fascinating facts about the British culture.

Film-MakingStudents explore how to write, design, film, edit and produce a short film or animated film in this hands-on course using a range of professional techniques and equipment.

This is an opportunity to work behind the camera, or for those who prefer to be centre stage, in front of the camera. There is even the opportunity to interview fellow students!

Grand FinaleWhichever UK2Learn course selected, they culminate in a grand presentation. This celebrates and showcases everything the students have achieved during their studies creating a glitzy grand finale.

Furthermore the presentation, which is attended by local dignitaries, attracts an impressive audience along with parents and teachers.

This celebration is not to be missed!
