Verdi’s Requiem is one of the most frequently performed major choral works and will be brought to life through the voices of Cara O’Sullivan (Sporano), Raphaela Mangan (Mezzo Soprano), Owen Gilhooly (Tenor), John Molloy (Bass) and the Festival Chorus comprised of East Cork Choral Society, Cór Cois Abhann and Cantairí Mhuscraí. The masterwork has been staged and performed in the world’s most renowned places, and sections can even be heard in countless advertisements and movies - including Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained or the notorious

Star Wars trilogy. Verdi’s Requiem is one of those pieces of the classical repertoire that are known to far more people than they even realize, and its majesty will bring the 2017 Cork International Choral Festival to a wonderful start.
