UHS Shout Outs
The Union High School staff wanted to take a moment during the month
of April to shout out some individual students for their hard work and
dedication during this unprecedented time. We miss you!!!!! We Are
#UnionUnite
So Here's A Shout Out To......
Thank you UHS Teachers for going the extra mile for our students. You
Rock!
Madison,
I am SO proud of you! You have shown so much dedication and hard work this semester. You always
give 110% in everything you do. Thank you for being such an awesome student and getting out of your
comfort zone. I'm so sorry that all of this has happened during your senior year, but know that I am
rooting for you, and things will get back to normal soon! I wish I could've seen through the rest of the year with you, but I will see you (hopefully) soon! Keep your head up and never stop dreaming.
Miss Leitch
Ariana,
You are the future of this Battalion and Chief and I are very thankful to have you on our team. We look forward to all that you will accomplish while you are with us!!!
Keep up the great work, SGM and Chief
Ben,
During this time of uncertainty, you have stood out among your peers. During this time, you have
remained positive even with being a Health Care worker’s son, I commend you for that. During this time,
you have completed your work, maybe not as quickly as you should but you have done it. You have kept
in contact, to check on things at school such as the animals, greenhouse, as well as Chabot and myself,
so thank you for that. You have also offered multiple time to come and assist with projects at the farm
and greenhouse. You are the type of person most should strive to be like and I can say you are a model student. Keep up the good work, keep your head up, and let’s look for a bigger and brighter tomorrow.
Mr. Langston
Carlos Garcia Leal
The reason I decided to give you a shout out is because during these confusing times of being away from
school you still have made it a point to do your work. Fortunately you have been on top of your game,
without me having to encourage you to do the work. You have stayed true to doing assignments from my class and I cannot tell enough how much that means to me. Take care and stay safe!
¡Cuidado y mantente a salvo!
Tatiana,
Thank you for always giving me your very best and being a credit to Union High School! You make it a
point to say hello every day and to think of the bright side with everything that you do! Your energy is
contagious and a value here at UHS. Keep that smile on your face and your chin up! I hope you are staying safe. See you soon!
Chabot
Ethan,
It has truly been a privilege having you in class this semester! Even though we haven't met in person for
several weeks now, I just wanted to take some time to let you know that you have been a fantastic
student this semester. You and I actually share some similarities, and I think I saw a little bit of myself in
you throughout the semester. Just like you, I moved to NC during high school from a completely
different state, and it was definitely a struggle sometimes. I was also fairly well-informed on historical
and cultural topics such as the ones we frequently discussed in class throughout the semester. I bring
these things up simply because even though I wasn't always sure if I belonged here or back in my home
state with my old friends, things worked out. You are extremely intelligent, intellectual, and respectful,
and these traits are enough to get you through life no matter where you are or what it throws at
you. Thank you for always working hard in class and being an example to everyone else. If you ever
need someone to talk to about anything, you know you can come to me. I’m absolutely certain that no
matter where life takes you, you will be successful in all of you pursuits.
-Mr. Ameen
Kelly,
THANK YOU so much for being a fantastic student!! You have been such a joy to teach even online!
Thank you for always getting your work done correctly and on time! I miss you in class!! Stay safe and
never change who you are!
Love,
Mrs. Lane
Izzie, I am so proud of your hard work have while school is out. We miss you!
Ms. Woodcock and Lulu
Zacharia Carr
Thank you Zacharia for all of your hard work over the past few weeks! You have gone above and
beyond the call for all of your assignments! I really appreciate the effort that you are putting in! You
have really shown growth over the course of the semester and I can't wait to see what you accomplish in the future! Keep working hard, I am so very proud of you!
Love,
Mrs. McPhail
Charles goes above and beyond what I ask him to do in the weight room.He is very respectful and a great student athlete.
LaTyra is a wonderful student who shows potential in everything that she does. She works hard and
stands up for what is right. She is gracious and helpful. She always finds a way to get her work done...no matter what! I appreciate you!!!
I am giving Julybeth Borja a “Shout Out”. She has been a wonderful student for the past two years. She
always does her work with minimal complaining (LOL). Through the whole COVID-19 issue, Julybeth has
been in constant communication with me and has always done her work and turned it in on time. She is
a joy to have in class and a joy to just be around. Even when she doesn ’t agree with an assignment she just smiles and says “Okay Mrs. Brummett”. She is a very smart young lady that will go far in life.
Hey Cynthia! I just wanted to let you know how proud I am of you for working so hard during this tough
time of learning virtually. You have taken the responsibility to get your education by any means
necessary. It takes a lot of grind, grit, and self-motivation to complete math assignments, especially
when you don’t have your teacher physically teaching you. Continue working hard and excelling in your assignments. Stay safe and stay healthy!
Meylin Guillen Martinez!
You’ve inspired me this semester. I appreciate your hard work and dedication to school.
Keep it up!
I thank Jose for his dedication in the Spanish 2 class during this difficult time. He has accessed class work on time and turned in his work on time.
Litzamarie De Jesus
Dear Joe,
I have really enjoyed having you in my class and getting to know you. You may be more of the strong,
silent type, but you surely make an impact in the class. I just wanted to give you a shout out in regards
to your amazing acting skills in your portrayal of Atticus Finch. It was enjoyed by the whole class and
made the chapters come alive. Thank you for being present in daily discussions, for completing all your
work and doing your best, and for being a kind person. Thank You!
Megan Fussell
A super shout out to Luke Cain who has taken the time to complete every single one of his Physical
Science assignments. Your hard work does not go unnoticed and it takes a special person with an
extraordinary amount of self-discipline and intrinsic motivation to keep academically forging ahead during this time. Wonderful job!!!
Mrs. Cavanaugh
Dear Kelly,
I am giving you a "Shout Out" for your exceptional attitude toward your education. Without prodding, you are still producing excellent work, even though we are not in the classroom.
As a teacher, it is always such a pleasure to work with students like you. Your inquisitive nature and
desire to extend your learning helps me to be a better teacher.
I truly appreciate all of your efforts, both in class and now, during our remote learning. You deserve a "Shout Out" for a job well done and a future that is bright!
Many Thanks,
Mrs. Rovnak
"Once you stop learning, you start dying." Albert Einstein
Dandre, you are the ONE student I don’t have to worry about checking on during this crazy time. I log
into NCVPS on Friday, click on your name, and all of your assignments are getting done, without me
having to even mention them to you. You (and your mom, shout out to her!) went and got a laptop, and
you are getting your work done on your own, which makes my job easier, so I appreciate it! I already knew you were the man, but now you are even more of the man! Keep it up dude!
Shout Out to Laura Gonzalez!Thank you for being such a hard working and responsible young lady!
Takeyha-
You deserve a special shout out! You have worked diligently this semester at school and have worked
equally hard on your remote learning assignments. Way to go! You are a conscientious student and it is
evident in all you do. I have enjoyed communicating with you through our many emails and the pictures
you have sent of your culinary creations while we have been out of school. These are all examples of your continuous will to learn. Keep up the great work ethic! Congratulations!
Mrs. Sills
"You have completed every assignment since we left school. This great work ethic will get you far in life. Proud of you. Keep up the good work" Mr. Loughman
Tamia,
I wanted to take a minute to give you a shout out for all the great work you have submitted during these
hectic times. I really appreciate you giving it your best effort to not only complete the assignments, but
answer them thoroughly and thoughtfully. I also wanted to tell you that I admired your work ethic and
sportsmanship on the softball field as well. I Hope you and your family are doing well and hope to see you soon!

Alex,
Thank you for all of your hard work with the hurdles and relay teams the last three years! Also, thanks
for your help with sending messages to the track team!
Thanks Again,
Coach Johnson
Evelin,
Thank you so much for being an outstanding student! Not only were you great in the classroom (which I
miss terribly) with participating and helping your peers, but you have also strived to accomplish your
work while out of school. I appreciate the fact that you care about your math work and I hope you are
doing great! I can't wait for all of us to be back in school!
Miss you!
Mrs. Pierce
Luciana,
I’m super proud of your efforts with staying on top of the work and making sure you get all the help that
you need. You have shown resilience through these times and that’s a skill that’s going to take you so far
in life. Continue being the best.
Mr. Aminu
I shout out Kayla Sullivan. She is kind and hardworking. Through out this quarantine, she has been
diligently and consistently doing her work. When we were physically in school, she would always be
willing to help others during class when they needed it, and she always put forth her best work. Union
High School is lucky to have such a great student!
Best regards,
Mrs. Thornton Kring
UHS Student Shout Outs
During this school year, our teachers have given "shout outs" to individual students each month for their
hard work, attitude or good citizenship traits. With schools' being closed, this has not been a possibility
BUT we wanted to try and do a little something for those students who have been been completing their
assignments and engaging with their teachers.
I want to personally thank the teachers and students for the way you have handled this new normal
during this unprecedented event in history. I miss all of you!!!!!!
We Are #UnionUnite!
