WHAT DOES THE SA COMMITTEE WANT TO SEE IN A STUDENT APPLICATION?

FOR ALL APPLICATIONS:

• Unique mission: does not overlap with another existing group and fills a specific, new niche on campus

• Sustainability: leadership and membership structure

• Engagement with Brown Community

FOR RE-CATEGORIZATION APPS:• Where will the funding go towards?• Has the group looked into other sources of

funding?• Group’s past engagement with Brown

Community

IMPORTANT INFOWhen applying for Re-Categorization

please make sure that you have fulfilled the eligible time requirement:

• For example, if your group applied for categorization as a Category I group last Fall (2013), your CAT I status takes effect in Spring of 2014.

• Therefore, your group is eligible to apply for CAT II status in Fall 2014

• Groups must wait one full semester of being in effect before applying for re-categorization

• If you have any other questions pertaining to this matter, please contact your SA rep

FINAL NOTES

• Categorization decisions must be approved by both the UCS Student Activities Committee and General Body

• Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until Nov.14th

• If you have any questions, please email SA Chair, E-Soo Kim ([email protected])
