Summary

This document outlines the hardware and architecture estimates for implementing UCM, IIR and IDQ. The Serene UCM sizing estimate is conducted by UCM Technical Architects with several years of experience working with UCM applications.

This estimate is not a substitute for the UCM/Oracle Expert Services Sizing Review which may need to be performed during the later phase of expansion with high availability and load balancing environments are implemented.

This estimate provides for the architecture with

Base sized servers – minimal estimate.

This does not address high availability and fail-over needs.

This estimate covers

o Universal Customer Master

o Informatica IIR

o Informatica IDQ

o Workflow

o EAI

o EIM

UCM Database

IIR/IDQ Database

ETL Staging Database

In general UCM Server needs at least 50GB disk space for UCM Software, configuration files, log files, log archives, and SARM data. For detailed sizing information on the UCM Database disk storage requirements please conduct a formal Oracle/UCM Expert Services Sizing Review.

As with any hardware sizing estimation complete scalability testing and tuning of the configured software must be performed prior to production deployment.

The estimates are based on the following data:

Customer records including address details, and associated account relationshiips : 1,500,000

UCM Enterprise

20 Web Client users – employees/data stewards

Storage Requirements – Summary

Server Estimated Storage in GBUCM Server 150Web Server 50Data Base Server 300IIR/IDQ Server 50

This takes into account the storage sizes estimated for the UCM application and also includes a buffer for log file growth if detailed logging is needed to diagnose any potential issues. Database sizing also takes into account the storage needed to archive data files for a period of at least 3 months.

Requirements

Customer will be deploying UCM, IIR and IDQ. This environment will need to support the following:

20 connected clients (Employee/Data Stewards facing HI Interactivity)

UCM Workflow

UCM EAI (UCM Enterprise Applications Integration for real time flows and UCM internal processes)

UCM EIM (UCM Enterprise Integration Manager for bulk loads)

Assumptions

Server Infrastructure Production sizing is based on

Single Windows 2003 server supporting the following:

o UCM App Server

o UCM Gateway Server

o IIR/IDQ Server

Additional Windows 2003 server supporting the following:

o Web Server

Linux Server supporting the following:

o UCM Database

o IIR/IDQ Database

o ETL Database

Business The application will be available on a 24 hour per day, five-day per week

basis with planned downtime for backup, maintenance and release management activities.

Yearly operations have been calculated based upon an estimate of 260 workdays per year and 52 weeks per year, based on a 5-day work week.

No Dedicated Web Clients will be implemented as part of this phase of the implementation.

Each employee will have one assigned position within an organization.

Volumetric An annual growth rate of 25% is estimated for the entities specified in this

assessment.

The total number of Web Client users to be supported for this implementation will be 20, with a concurrent load of 20.

No Siebel Mobile Web Clients will be supported for this implementation.

Database Where insufficient data is available to calculate or provide estimates on

tables, these tables have been excluded from this review.

Where no details on growth estimates have been provided, a percentage growth rate of 25% per year has been applied to the tables for sizing estimates.

The size requirement for indices is roughly equivalent to the final sizing for the data tables for present and subsequent years, and has been represented as an equal value.

An 8KB Oracle block size is used

High Level Architecture Proposals

This sizing estimate provides for the following architectures:

1) Base single server environment (w/o High Availability) for UCM,IIR/IDQ Server

2) Base single server environment (w/o high availability) for UCM Web Server

3) Base single server environment (w/o high availability) for Database server

Please see enclosed Visio diagrams for the details of the architecture.

Database Server Environment

Database SizingA comprehensive database sizing exercise has been performed based on the information provided.

The sizing numbers are initial estimates to begin the ongoing process of database sizing. These estimates should be reviewed and modified as appropriate as more implementation specific and historic data becomes available. With any system of this size, ongoing monitoring procedures should be established to track database growth and provide accurate sizing information.

This sizing exercise used a standard Oracle methodology based on the UCM Data Model to determine the likely row counts in the UCM application base and intersection tables. The row count estimate was then combined with expected row sizes. Once the basic table sizing was produced, further factors were applied to accommodate the overhead introduced by the data management features of the database to give a total data size.

Adding a factor for indexes produced the final database size. Large indexes will take a greater proportion of the space required due to the additional levels of hierarchy introduced to the B-trees.

Note that redundant disk configuration for fault tolerance is vital for such a system, and will add to the total space required on the machine based on the implementation. Additional information on this topic is available in the Data Storage section of this document. We also recommend that VISA consult with the database vendor and the hardware vendors for detailed hardware sizing and disk configuration.

Total table sizes had factors applied to allow for some overhead due to database storage structures on disk. For this reason the table sizes are greater than the simple product of the row size and row count.

Many tables hold records for different types of data or more than one record per entry. For this reason the row counts given may be greater than the number of data entries for that object.

Apart from the above database will support ETL schema housing periodic batch files from source system. Also, archives for these files will be maintained for a period of 3 months.
