UCM Migration: UCM migration consists of two steps: 1. Migrate Configurations Between Servers a. Transfer of meta-data and related stuff. 2. Transfer Files between Servers a. Migration of folder structure only b. Transfer of actual files within folder structure. 1. Migrate Configurations Between Servers a. Login as administrator b. In menu expand "Config Migration Admin" folder then click "Configuration Templates" -> "Create New Template" c. Set the values according to Destination configuration.

UCM Migration:

UCM migration consists of two steps:

1. Migrate Configurations Between Servers

a. Transfer of meta-data and related stuff.

2. Transfer Files between Servers

a. Migration of folder structure only

b. Transfer of actual files within folder structure.

1. Migrate Configurations Between Servers

a. Login as administrator

b. In menu expand "Config Migration Admin" folder then click "Configuration

Templates" -> "Create New Template"

c. Set the values according to Destination configuration.

d. Destination configuration can be seen under Administration -> Configuration for

DESTINATION_INSTANCE_NAME -> Show Server Configurations

e. When done you will be prompted to restart the instance. After UCM restart login

to Source instance and under Administration -> Providers you will ses this:

f. Now it's time to create a new archive to be transferred from Source to

Destination. In Source instance go to Administration -> Admin Applets -> Archiver

-> Edit -> Add

g. Let's populate our archive with documents we need to transfer to Destination.

Select the archive you just created and move to Export Data tab, then press Edit

button

h. Choose which documents you wish to export.

i. Then export them with Actions -> Export

j. We have our archive in Source instance. We need to create an empty

archive on Destination instance in which our content will be transferred.In

Destination instance go to Administration -> Admin Applets -> Archiver ->

Edit -> Add

k. Make it targetable.Go to Transfer To tab, Edit button, then check "Is

targetable" flag.

l. Finally login to Source instance again, select our archive, Transfer To tab,

click Edit button

m. Select Destination instance and Target archive.

n. That’s all for configuration migration between servers.

2. Transfer Files between Servers

a. Migration of folder structure only

i. Exporting folder structure from source CS

1. Open Administration tray in source CS

2. Click on folder structure configuration link

3. Click on export archive link

4. Save the .hda file in local machine

ii. Importing folder structure at target CS

1. Open Administration tray in target CS

2. Click on folder structure configuration link

3. Click on import archive link

4. Browse the .hda file saved in export process

b. Transfer of actual files within folder structure

1. Let's start adding an outgoing provider from Source instance which points to

Destination instance.

Login Source -> Administration ->Providers -> Outoing -> Add

2. Set the values according to Destination configuration.

3. Destination configuration can be seen under Administration -> Configuration for

DESTINATION_INSTANCE_NAME -> Show Server Configurations

12. Select Destination instance and Target archive.

13. Finally transfer files going to Actions -> Transfer

That’s all using above steps you can migrate the configuration as well as data

from one UCM to other UCM server
