WHAT YOU WILL LEARN The program of the Mechanic Training Course teaches students the essentials of building and maintaining bikes across the cycling disciplines. The course also provides students with vital experience at races, travelling with the World Cycling Centre (WCC) team most weekends as an active team mechanic, under the expert guidance of the Centre’s mechanics. This extensive course includes: Building road, track, MTB & BMX bikes, maintenance and servicing of road, track, MTB & BMX bikes, wheel building, position on the bike, rules & regulations. COURSE STRUCTURE The course lasts eight weeks and is delivered by World Cycling Centre (WCC) Master Mechanic, Alex Roussel. Alex has over 30 years of professional experience as a cycling mechanic and has worked with professional teams and National Federations across the sport of cycling, attending countless major events including World Championships. DATES 2nd February to 27th March 2015, 4th May to 26th June 2015, 7th September to 30th October 2015. COST The cost of the course is CHF 8’000.- This includes: basic standard accommo- dation, meals, teaching material, health and accident insurance, travel to any races attended with the WCC teams. Travel from the participants’ country to the WCC and return is not included in the cost. HOW TO APPLY Complete the application form available on our website and send it to [email protected]. UCI MECHANIC TRAINING COURSE The UCI Mechanic Training Course is aimed at individuals who wish to pursue a professional career as a mechanic either within a professional team or a National Federation, and will provide them with a complete background in the knowledge and practice required to work as a professional mechanic. www.uci-wcc.com UCI WORLD CYCLING CENTRE The World Cycling Centre (WCC), which houses the headquarters of the Union Cycliste Internationale, is a high-level coaching and training centre. Designed for riders, coaches, cycling managers and different cycling professions, the WCC has been awarded the label Olympic Training Centre by the IOC.
