UBS building material manufacturing process is one that has been designed with

complete flexibility in mind, as the overall thickness of a standard wall may vary

from country to country. (UBS can manufacture Blocks to any specification required)

Specific specifications has an effect on our pricing, Lower spec means lower price

per square meter – Higher spec means higher price per square meter.

Changes in climate range ( - 40 c to 30 c) within some countries where our

products are used, The density of the EPS and wall thickness required will have an

impact on the price per square meter. When products are required for these

countries, (as an example countries with Sub Zero temperatures) to obtain a energy

efficient building thicker blocks / panels manufactured out of a higher density EPS

maybe be required (these will obviously cost more) EPS density range 8kg to 40kg

The standard Blocks and Panels quoted within this document are suitable

for the majority of countries worldwide providing thermal energy

efficient houses and buildings.


Expanded Polystyrene insulation is a lightweight, rigid, closed cell insulation. EPS is

available in several compressive strengths to withstand load and back-fill forces.

This closed-cell structure provides minimal water absorption and low vapor

permanence.

Commonly used as insulation for walls, foundations and roofing, there

are many benefits to selecting EPS products:

• Long-term R-Value (“R” is the resistance to heat flow)

EPS Insulation is composed of organic elements – carbon, hydrogen and oxygen

– and does not contain chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) or hydro chlorofluorocarbons

(HCFCs).

What is EPS ?


Magnesium oxide or MgO is used as a basic refractory material for crucibles and as a principal

fireproofing ingredient in construction materials.

As a construction material, magnesium oxide cements have several attractive characteristics: fire

resistance, moisture resistance, mold and mildew resistance, and strength.

Before the widespread 20th century use of Portland cement magnesium oxide and magnesium

chloride based cements were numbered amongst the world’s popular cement products. Once

the introduction of Portland cement essentially cornered the market in the latter part of the

19th century, serious public health issues began to be quietly recognized, documented, and

scientifically verified as being directly linked to the use of limestone/gypsum based cement and

concrete products. In contrast to this sobering reality magnesium cements have consistently

proven to be superior in strength, versatility, and environmental integrity

Availability and Benefits of Magnesium/Phosphate based cements:

Magnesium deposits exist in abundance in every corner of the earth and cover roughly 8% of

the world’s surface. Depending upon where they are mined, magnesium oxide and magnesium

oxide/magnesium chloride cements require only 20%-40% of the energy required to produce

Portland cement. Phosphates are available from many sources ranging from phosphoric rock to

animal wastes and fermented plants, which historically were used to “react” with various oxides

to produce these environmentally friendly, non-toxic cements.

What is MgO Coating ?

Raft slab systems are easy to set up and dramatically reduce the amount of concrete required to construct a slab . These pods are used to form a series of vertical beams running perpendicular providing strength and stability while a bond beam or footing is formed around the external edge of the slab.

Note: Core holes can be cut to and spaced apart as required to

suit project and engineers requirements.

UBS has developed technology where it can cut the

structural core holes within its wall block system, any size

and spaced apart as specified by an engineer.

The core hole cutting process is undertaken after the

surface coating procedure has been completed.

This flexibility allows engineers to specify exactly how many

core holes at what spacing's are required to provide the

structural skeleton of the building.

Building can be engineered to suit such requirements as soil

and ground conditions or Earthquake and Cyclonic regions

As a insulation EPS is second to none , it will not lose any of its thermal resistance with age.

EPS withstands in situ freeze – thaw cycles without loss of structural integrity.

EPS will not readily absorb moisture from the atmosphere

specifications on the size of steel tubes

place without the need for heavy lifting

equipment.

cover.

Each panel is steel tube reinforced with 2 x

40mm x 60mm patio tubing that are

laminated into the panel.

The panel is 4 meters long 600 mm wide

and 120 mm tick

15 Kg panel is US$24.60 per meter

19 Kg panel is US$27,60 per meter

Step 5 :

Second floor and roof systems are also tied into the wall system by using steel and concrete, (fittings are concreted into the bond beam formed around the entire wall structure)

UBS is a integrated formwork system (IBS) comprising prefinished blocks and panels.

Its internal core holes and channels provide formwork that is the filled with concrete and reinforcing steel to form the structural skeleton of a building

Construction panels are internally reinforced with steel tubes and externally reinforced with fiberglass mesh and our special MgO coating covering both sides of the panel.

Steel tubs are used to tie the panels into the structure – run electrical cables through .

Depending on the configuration of the project (how many levels ) this then determines

which panel is used . There are 2 types of pre finished panels (1) load bearing ceiling

and roofing panel (2) load bearing ceiling and flooring Panel

UBS construction panel can be used for ceilings roofing, additional floors and decking, its fully trafficable and can support the weight of workers with ease.

Floor & roof panel average weight is 57 – 60kg making them easy

to handle and install. (heavy lifting machinery is not required)


Columns and Beams UBS can manufacture light weight columns and

beams to suit all construction requirements.

All we require is the desired specifications.

This time saving product removes the need for

form work as the product itself is the form

work .

Columns and beam can be set into place within

a few minutes, ready for rebar and concrete.

The buildings walls internal columns and beams are tied together using a bond beam

system around the entire structure. Windows and doors have a complete reinforced

concrete surround that encapsulates the entire frame. The bond beam system is used

to secure additional levels or the roofing system by securing steel connection fitting

to the bond beams rebar before the concrete is poured.

Extreme flexibility of this product allows for almost any

finish to be applied directly to its surface.

The machine finished blocks coated with (MgO) that’s

applied to the UBS wall system is ideal for fixing and

adhering many other materials such as tiles or stone panels

directly to its surface.

Cement textured renders and textured paints can be

applied directly to the walls surface, you can even apply a

light skim coat to the blocks upon completion of installation

to have a perfectly flat painted finish if required.

UBS block can be cut using any standard masonry blade

power tool, services such as lighting or power sockets can

be installed simply by placing conduits or pipes within the

structural core holes prior the poring of concrete.

Post and Rail Fence Panel system

UBS has developed technology to manufacture a Eco friendly

fencing system that provides many benefits over conventional

fencing materials commonly used today.

Materials used within our manufacturing process are designed

to be environmentally friendly, as they are manufactured

primarily from low carbon producing structural coatings and

recyclable materials.

Our fence panels will not rust or deteriorate when exposed to

the elements, they are impervious to insects as they offer no

cellulose food matter.

Panels structural coatings have been specially formulated to be

resistant to molds and funguses which commonly cause

problems in damp areas.

The post and rail fencing system has been designed for quick

and easy installation.

UBS panel technology is designed around strength and durability, our panels are

manufactured on a production line to ensure a machine finish.

Each panel is prepared by a mechanical process to minimize any chance of the

coating material delaminating from the EPS core.

As an extra strengthening measure each panel has a fiberglass mesh applied along

with the coating which is designed to prevents cracking and also adding strength.

FireFire Resistance Resistance

UBS has developed extra strong coatings for its construction material system.

Using specially formulated Magnesium Oxide based mixtures that provide , mold , mildew, insect , water and fire resistance, with a strength far stronger than cement coatings.

The coating is considered eco friendly and good for the environment.

Its extremely safe to use – unlike cement based materials.

In addition to the many benefits this building system delivers, the coating that's applied to the EPS panels has been,

1) Fiberglass mesh reinforced (this preventing any cracking of the walls and ceiling coatings)

2) The EPS is specially prepared prior to coating (to minimize the chance of delamination)

3) Which means a lot less maintenance to our building structures in the future
