    All neighbors, area residents, students, faculty, property owners and other stakeholders arewelcome and encouraged to attend.

    The University at Albany is considering renovations and expansion of its Downtown Campus to meetspace needs as described in its 202 UAlbany !acilities "aster #lan$

    These space needs are expected to be met with a combination of renovation and new constructionwithin the existing Downtown Campus property and% depending on available funding% would beimplemented over the next five to ten years$ These potential pro&ects include renovation of the

    'chuyler 'chool for University functions( construction of a par)ing structure on the Thurlow Terracesurface par)ing lot( renovation and expansion of #age *all( and construction of an addition to the*awley +ibrary$

    To evaluate the potential environmental impacts of these proposed pro&ect plans% UAlbany isunderta)ing a ,eneric nvironmental .mpact 'tatement /,.' in accordance with the 1ew or)'tate nvironmental 3uality 4eview Act /'34A$ '34A incorporates the consideration ofenvironmental factors into planning and development$ The intent of '34A is to balance the social%economic and environmental factors of a proposed pro&ect /5 1C44 #art 56$

    The process for developing and completing the ,.' is a public process with opportunities for publicinput at various points$ The public scoping session is the first opportunity for public input in the

    process$ An early step in the ,.' process is to 7scope8 topics and potential impacts to be evaluatedin the ,.' document$ This public scoping session is an opportunity for the public to identify thepotential impacts and topics to be evaluated$ Topics evaluated may include traffic% noise% par)ing%historic resources% aesthetics% and more$ The topics to be evaluated will be included in a scopingdocument that will guide the ,.'$
