U8510 software upgrade operation guide

Operation guide:

1. Upgrade binary

1.1 Upgrade prerequisite

The software should be updated with the MICRO SD card.

1.2 Upgrade files

1.3 Upgrade pre-checks

Make sure that the MICRO SD cards are available and can be read and write;

Based on the no of parallel updates prepare 2*(no of SD card) sets;

Format the entire Micro SD card first before starting the procedures.

1.4 Prepare two sets of SD card for upgrade

1.4.1 Copy the Software from Release path to Local Machine desktop

1.4.2 Make Sure that the size of the file copied is as specified in table 1.3

SD card 1 Preparation

1. Copy the dload folder to SD card(root directory)

2. After copying is complete Please check that the following file is present dload/update.app

SD card 2 Preparation

1. Create a New folder and name it as dload in SD card(root directory)



2. Copy the file UPDATE_trench_IN.APP from vendor folder in PC to the dload folder in the SD card

3. Rename the UPDATE_trench_IN.APP to update.app in the SD card.

1.5 Upgrade Procedure

(Step 1 to step 5 - Using SD Card 1)

Step 1. Make sure sufficient Battery Power is available before upgrading (at least

30%).

Step 2. Make sure your handset is power off.

Step 3. Insert the SD card 1 into the handset. Pressing the VOLUME UP key and

VOLUME DOWN key, and then press the POWER key to power simultaneously

on the phone and enter the Software Upgrade Mode.

Step 4. When the progress bar stop, the phone will restart automatically, and will

reboot and come to Welcome Screen.

Step 5. Make sure your handset is power off.

(Step 6 to Step7 - SD card 2)

Step 6. Insert the SD card 2 into the handset. Pressing the VOLUME UP key and

VOLUME DOWN key, and then press the POWER key to power on the phone



and enter the Software Upgrade Mode.

Step 7. When the progress bar stop, the phone will restart automatically, and will

reboot and come to Welcome Screen.

1.6 Upgrade validation (Random check, check one device out of one Carton box)

Setting ->about phone->Build version, to check the version. As in Below

After Successful Completion the Application Screen should be seen as below and

then only it should be confirmed. Only 3 Menu Screens will be Available

After checking the above step, Do a Factory Reset of the device as given

below

From the Idle Screen select

Setting ->Settings->Privacy -> Factory Reset ->Reset Phone -> Erase

Note: Make sure you dont select Erase SD Card Option



IMPORTANT : After factory Reset, wait for the device to boot completely and

reach Welcome Setup Wizard Screen(Picture as below).

Power off the device.
