Colour in the posterThere are only 3 colours which feature in this poster and they are: Red, Black and White

This black and white shot of the band is significant, as it reflects that the band has come from through the hard times and now are experiencing the good times. This imagery promotes the soft story which the British public always fall for.

The simple colours also represent that the musicians, despite their fame and wealth live genuine lives, as black and white represents simplistic, rather than complex a rock star lifestyle. This is evident since Bono (the front man) is seen as a non confirmative rock star.

The red and the black background also makes the white “U2” title stand out significantly, which as a result promotes the band on a larger scale.

The colours of the clothing are all different, which reflects that all four members of the band are distinctive; as a result all members bring something different to the band.

The theme of equality

This picture emphasizes that there is no main member to the band, which reflects equality. Furthermore this poster avoids the problems of other bands who preach equality, since Bono (the front man) is not either more central than the other member, or secondly that any member is significantly larger than any other member.

All four members are looking in different directions, which emphasizes, that all members are autonomous and are not lead by any member in the band.

On the same notion, this also suggests that all members have an equal input into the making of the music, coming from different elements.

The fact that their feet are on the ground is significant, since it reflects despite their fame and wealth they still se themselves as equal members of society, the same as you and me.

Maintaining their ego

This picture represents that this well respected band, does not need to conform to the cheesy pictures performed by generic pop bands such a one direction

There is also not a lot of promotion in the poster, which is represents that they do not have to make the poster too appealing, as they will get through to their fans anyway, due to their status.
