Dribbling- Escaping The Enemy

Passing – Pac ManGrid 15 x 20 yards

• Designate a “Pac Man”, they will begin with a ball.

• The other players are moving without soccer balls.• The “Pac Man” is attempting to pass the ball and hit other players

knees or below.

• As players get hit with the ball the become “Pac Man” as well.

• Play until everyone gets hit. Last player can start the next round as a “Pac Man”

• May need multiple “Pac Man” to start activity

Possible Coaching Points

ü Body Awareness to avoid being hit by ball.

ü Passing to hit a target, follow through at target.

Guided Question – I Wonder if You Should Pass to Where the Player is or Where They Are Going To Be?

Dribbling – 1 v 1 To End lines Grid 12 x 20 Yards

• Split The team into 2 groups, you may need to have 2 grids going

• Players get around a cone and coach serves ball in, you can also have the next attacker pass ball in

• 1 v 1 and try to dribble over the end line with the ball under control

Possible Coaching Points

ü Encourage them to use simple moves to get push the ball past the defender, they don’t need to make the defender fall over

ü Try to use both feet when attackingü Immediate Pressure from the defender

Guided Question - Can We Use Both Feet As We Attack? I Wonder If It Is Easy To Defend Us If We Can Only Go One Direction?

4 v 4 To Targets Grid 25 x 35 Yards

• Divide group into two teams of 5. Team A & B.

• Set up team A to defend on one side and place their target at the other end. Reverse for team B.

• Team A will attempt to pass to their target. The target then plays the ball in to team b to re-start play.

• Switch targets often. The game should flow, make sure to have quick re-starts.

Possible Coaching Points

ü The targets can move up and down the line to receive a pass.ü Can you help yourself by taking a positive 1st touch?
