Carriers Bring Greetings Around this time of year it is customary for the News

Re-view delivery boys and girls to make personal calls on the homes they service to present Christmas eards and greetings. The :Sews Review"s financial position is such that we cannot pay our earners very high remuneration. They art! therefore dependent on generous holiday donations to supplement their nomina] pay.

Most of the carriers range in age from pre-teen to the middle teens. For the younger boys and girls. delivering the Sews Review is their first job experience. Many of the oider carriers started at a young age and continue to deliver the N..,..s Review mainly as a servke to their neighborhood. It is a learning proe<!ss for all these youngsters and, in some cases, the instillation of responsibility tak"" time and patience.

The holiday season affords us all a chance to show appreciation and to provide encouragement for the elforta of these youncsters and at the same time to show under•tandinlr for any f&ilings that might have occurred during the year.

Again thia year the earners wlll leave envelopes when they find no one at home. We hope th""" envelopes, eouipp•d with the earrier's name and add...,..,., will he helpful t•) our readers "~ho wish to show such appreciation. In case the earrier's name or addrees is in doubt, envelopes may be mailed to the News Review, Post Of!lce Box 68, Greenbelt, MD 20768, for forwarding. Please include your address so we can identify your carrier

Residents of Springhill Lake who wish to send a donatiOfl to their carrier may drop oJf the envelopes at the Fountain Lodge.
