Stewardship

Corner As 2016 moves along at a rapid

pace, it is not too late to be

thinking about your financial

health. If you haven't done a

review of your financial

situation from last year, now is

a great time to do that. As you

are getting your income tax documents ready, it is a

perfect time to review. There are some questions you

might want to address as you are reviewing your

finances.

1. How much debt am I taking into the new year? Add up what you have left on your student loans, any

outstanding debt on credit cards, what you have left

on your vehicle loans. Anything that is not a monthly

bill is considered debt. Take a good long look at this

number. Make this number a priority of your action

plan this year.

2. How much did I save last year? Take a look at your savings account to evaluate what is there. If you automate deposits into your savings

account that is great, if not, this would be a great time

to start. Could you have saved more? Did you plan to

have more? What stopped you from meeting your

goal? If you didn't have goals set for saving, now

would be a great time to do that. If you didn't have a

savings account, start one.

3. What do I want to save for this year? How will I

get that accomplished? Now is the time to set some financial goals. How much of my debt do I want to eliminate this year?

How much do I want to save this year, beyond my

emergency fund? If you don't have a plan in place for

these items, now is a great time to make a plan. They

may include making lifestyle changes or automating

this process.

4. Did I stick with my budget? If not, why not? Maybe you blew your budget from last year. Maybe

your goals were unrealistic. Maybe you didn't have a

budget at all. Now is a great time to get started.

5. How will I budget this year? Once you review last year’s plan, look to see where

you need to adjust. Maybe you will want to move

from pen and paper to an app or vice versa. Maybe

you are newly wed and need to combine your

incomes. Set some goals as to what you need to do, to

be a better steward.

Stewardship Corner (continued)

6. What are some poor money habits I need to get

rid of? Look at areas in your daily, weekly and

monthly lives. Is there something you need to

change? Are there places you can save or stretch your

dollar? If you are living beyond your means, where

can you rein it in? Instead of eating your lunch out, make it at home. Instead of buying new clothes, buy

used. Instead of stopping on the way to or from work

to get that coffee, tea or soft drink, bring it from

home.

These are just a few areas to take a look at, moving

on, in this new year. None of these ideas will work

for you, unless you take action. Remember, this is the

first day of the rest of your life. If there is a change to

be made, let it begin with you. I would love to help

you begin your journey. Call Ron Winsor at 620-464-

0118 or email at stewardship @tyrochristian.org for more information on how to begin your journey.

Parents When you are checking in or picking

up your child in the Building Block

area (nursery/preschool), please have only one person, over the age of 14, go to pick up the child.

This will help with the security and to make sure that

we don’t have a child leave without their parent. We

have had too many adults go back to pick up one

child. We want to keep our area secure and safe for

our children. If you have company and would like to

show them this area, please wait until the area is free

of small children. Thank you for your help and

understanding in this matter.

Mark your calendars - March 13th

- Day Light Savings Time. Don’t

forget to set your clocks ahead one

hour to make it to church on time.

Easter – We will be having a Saturday evening

service (March 26th) starting at 6:00 pm. We will

NOT be having Sunday evening (March 27th) service.

If you are scheduled to work the 4th Sunday evening

in March or would be willing to help Saturday

evening, please let me know so I may plan for that

night.

March 30th

– is a 5th

Wednesday night We will wear our P.J.’s that night. I am

looking forward to seeing everyone wear

their pajama’s that night.

I want to say a special THANK

YOU to all who work in the

nursery and preschool area. Some of you have double, triple,

etc. duties it seems. It does not

go unnoticed. Parents please take the time to say

Thank you to your child’s teacher and workers in

their rooms. They volunteer to be there for your

child while you are getting fed by the message.

If you are unable to work the Sunday that you are

scheduled to work, please try to find someone to

trade Sunday’s with. There is an updated worker and

sub sheet with phone numbers located in each class

room for you to take. If you are unable to find a sub, my numbers are: Cell (620)779-2702, and Church

(620)289-4433.

grace of our Lord Jesus be on all of us until He

Love in Jesus, Wesley Cranor

Hi,

I am writing this letter because you have a man

and woman who are members of your church who at

Christmas time were so very kind and generous to my

family and I want to tell them how much what they

have done for us is appreciated. They have been by a few times since and the food and the gift cards have

helped me when I had nothing. I don’t know their

name but I hope that somehow that by writing this

letter they will know. I pray that our Father in

heaven blesses them. I have never had anyone be so

kind and generous. I pray that I will be able to help

someone else like that someday. From the bottom of

my heart please know that your kindness and

generosity has helped more than you know. I truly

see Jesus in you and what you have done for us. God

bless you and your family! Thank you Tyro Church. Thank you so very, very much, Julie
