What is a sanserif font?

• Sanserif fonts are good for beginning readers because the letters look more like the letters they are learning to print.

• A sanserif font is a clean modern type of font that has letters without serifs. Normal handwritten print is also considered sanserif.

What is a serif font?Using fonts with serifs is helpful for

advanced readers because serifs help guide a reader's eyes in a straight line, and can speed up reading for a fluent reader. A serif font is a type of font with short, light lines or curves called serifs projecting from the top or bottom of a mainstroke of a letter.
