A Good Summary: Summarize and respond to Sherry Turkle’s “Can You Hear Me Now?” (1 page)

Short Argument Essay: Take a stand and persuade readers to agree with your position on a topic or issue in one of the following essays (King’s “Why We Crave Horror Movies,” Wilson’s “A Lifetime of Student Debt? Not Likely,” or Turkle’s “Can You Hear Me Now?” and compare and contrast your reasoning with an article taken from an EBSCO database. (3-4 pages)

Problem/Solution Research Paper: Analyze a specific problem that affects your community, discuss its causes and propose possible solutions. Include five sources from school databases and include a discussion of your naysayers. (6-9 pages)

Annotated Bibliography: Research and organize a collection of sources for the Problem/Solution paper. Each entry must include a citation in MLA format, a summary and an opinion/response paragraph. Each source must pass the CRAAP test. (5-6 pages)

Literary Analysis: Compare and Contrast an element of your choosing in either two stories (Jack London’s “Koolau the Leper,” and Piilani Koolau’s “The True Story of KailuaiKoolau”) or two poems (various poetry selections) and draw some conclusion about the texts’ theme. (3-4 pages)

Annotated Bibliography: Prepare 5 sources for use in your final research paper. Take the time to first summarize then critique (evaluate and respond to) each source. Include 2 scholastic sources. 2 pages per source/500 words.

Persuasive Research Paper: Take a stand on a controversial topic of your choice and develop a persuasive argument to change/challenge your reader’s thinking. 8- 10 pages/2000- ‐ ‐2500 words.
