Certified instructors

Certificate 2.2 : Certificate of Compliance indicating the order of the results of non-

specific. And 'issued by the manufacturer. Is issued by the

manufacturer. Document in which the manufacturer certifies that the

products supplied are in compliance with order requirements andwhich provides test results on the basis of non-specific.

Certificate 3.1 : Document issued by the manufacturer stating that the products

supplied comply with the order and requests that it provides the

test results. The unit test or tests must be performed are defined by

the product-specific rules and official corresponding rules and / or

order. The document is validated by the manufacturer's authorized

inspection representative, independent of the production department.

Manufacturer will be allowed to transfer the certificate of inspection

test results 3.1, relevant obtained by specific inspection of primary

products used, consider that the manufacturer operates traceability

procedures and can provide the relevant documents required for

inspection.

EN 10204:2004 – metal products - types of inspection documents

OBJECT

This standard specifies the different types of inspection documents supplied to the purchaser, inaccordance with the requirements of the order for the supply of all metal products, such as sheets,plates, bars, forgings, castings, whatever their method of production

The standard may also be applied to non-metallic products 

The standard is used in conjunction with the product specifications that specify the technicalconditions of supply of products.

NOTE: The list of information which may be included control documents can be found in the

appropriate documents, for example, EN 10168 for steel.

NOTE: the standard in Annex A provides a summary of the various control documents.

MAIN DIFFERENCES FROM THE 1991 EDITION

1 - new definition of "inspection does not specify" and "special inspection" and added

definitions of "manufacturer", "broker" and "specific product"

2 - more precise definition with respect to the documentation issued by an intermediary

3 - new method of validation and transmission of inspection documents

4 - reduction in the number of control documents (certificates)

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Definition of “non-specific control"

Control performed by the manufacturer in accordance with its procedures if the same products asdefined by the product specification and manufactured by the same process are in accordancewith the requirements of the order or not.

- Note: the controlled items may not necessarily be the actual products supplied. 

Definition of “specific control” :

Check carried out prior to shipment, according to the specific product to be supplied or unit tests

provided that the products are a part in order to ensure that these products are in accordance withthe requirements of the order.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Definition of “manufacturer”

Organization that manufactures their products in accordance with the requirements of the orderand properties specified in the corresponding product specification.

Definition of “intermediary”

Organization that receives products from manufacturers and sells them without further processingor after processing that do not change the properties specified in the purchase order and providedspecific product.

NB : disappears from under the term “processor”.

Definition of “specific product”

Detailed and complete technical requirements applicable to the order, established in writtendocuments as prescriptions, standards or other specifications.

2. TRANSMISSION OF DOCUMENTS FOR INSPECTION BY A

BROKER

An agent only needs to transmit the original or a copy of the inspection documents supplied by the

manufacturer, without any alteration. This documentation must be accompanied by appropriate

means of identification of product, this is to ensure traceability between the product and

documentation. 

Make copies of the original document is granted, provided that :

- Traceability procedures are implemented;

- The original document is available on request.

When producing copies is permitted to replace the information on quantities which are deliveredwith the partial quantities actually delivered.

3. VALIDATION AND TRASMISSION OF INSPECTION DOCUMENTS

Control documents must be validated by the people responsible (name and position). 

The storage and transmission of documents can be made either in electronic form on paper.
