Utilized molecular techniques to study the effects of microRNA modulation of the non-canonical branches of the highly conserved Wnt signaling pathways and its importance for cellular morphogenesis during early development.

Worked with S. purpuratus and assayed miRNA target protected embryos and non-canonical affecting drug treated embryos for changes in skeletal spicule and gut development.

Presented research data through poster presentations at a variety of conferences including the 2014 Summer Scholars symposium at the University of Delaware.

Continued research during summer 2014 and summer 2015 through University of Delaware’s Summer Scholar program and Summer Fellows programs respectively.
