3ABOUT TYGA PERFORMANCE

TYGA Performance was founded in 1998 by two British

enthusiasts living in Thailand for the design and manu-

facture of high quality motorcycle products for the rac-

ing and sports bike segment. With the more widespread

use of the internet at that time, it became possible to

support a widely dispersed global niche market from one

location which had previously been difficult. TYGA recog-

nised this and became one of the first motorcycle 100%

E-commerce businesses in the country if not the World

and this proved to be a winning formula from the start.

Products are manufactured in Thailand to strict

international standards and exported worldwide to all

corners of the globe, particularly, Europe, Australia, North

America and Japan where the TYGA brand has a strong

following particularly among the two stroke and

400 cc sportsbike community.

The company is unusual in that it offers a wide range

of products, for specific models such as bodywork,

carbon, performance engine and exhaust systems

and CNC machined parts such as rear sets and tri-

ple clamps. Although the focus is supporting niche

APRILIA RS250 BODYWORK

Following from the NSR250 and the RGV250 GP250

inspired bodywork, we received a lot of interest over

recent years to make something similar for the Aprilia

RS250. We were both flattered and surprised. We always

considered the bodywork that the street bike is supplied

with from the factory bears more than a passing resem-

blance to the bike that has dominated the World GP250

class in recent years. Normally, our starting point in the

design would have looked

at the factory GP250 bike

like we did with the Honda

and tried to get inspiration

from that.

However, if we took that approach, wed be at risk of ending

up with something looking pretty close to the original plas-

tics that we took off the bike. A different approach was need-

ed. People were already fitting our GP250 bodywork to their

Aprilias, so we decided to simply adapt the TYGA Suzuki kit

to fit. Well that was the original plan.

The TYGA RGV fairing looked a pretty good fit for the April-

ia from the start. Ok, there were the usual side stand, kick

start and foot control clearance issues but nothing very

major. The seat cowling, required reworking on the front

section to merge with the Aprilia frame and tank but we

wanted to keep the original shape and profile of the kit.

That was the original plan and it always looks so easy...

The fairing need to be widened slightly around the mid-

dle to allow for the extra width of the Aprilia around the

auto lube and the coolant top up tanks and then repro-

filed to come back in at the bottom. The Suzuki and the

Aprilia frames being of a completely different design,

required changes to the trailing edge and obviously the

inner cowling need to match the Aprilia radiator and the

lower triple clamp which has a special cover under it to

guide in the air.

Early on in the design,

we had decided on

a dual headlight ar-

rangement. This was to differentiate it from the Suzuki

and also to allow for a more effective light beam, which

is not the best on our RGV kit. This in turn allowed the

fairing upper to be lowered slightly because we did not

need to worry about the headlight living where the front

fender moves at full travel and this enabled the whole

design to become more compact. The stock Aprilia fair-

ing we always felt seems a bit remote and far forward for

a proper race bike and we were keen to improve on this

element with our design.

We decided to keep the fairing devoid of side radiator

air ducts. This was for a number of reasons, firstly the

stock fairing doesnt need them so there was not going

to be a heat issue, secondly, modern 250 GP bikes dont

usually have them for less drag and thirdly, it allows for

a bigger canvass for the paint design (sponsors will be

paying for a fair few of these fairings we reckoned

Turning to the lower fairing, we wanted to go for a long

and sleek design to match the upper. The lower is all in

one piece and extends beyond the original one. The bot-

tom is split like the original, and this is helpful when get-

ting the fairing to mount with sufficient clearance with

the exhaust chambers.

Because of the lower fairing, the kit requires a new meter

stay and we supply a variety of lower stays and bushes

to allow for the optimum set up for any specific bikes

set up. We have designed the fairing so that it can be

removed in a race situation quickly and easily. The side

mounts and the front mount are held on wth bungs GP

style and the side bungs held in with R clips while the

front bung is free fitting requiring no securing.

The seat cowling is similar to our other GP250 versions,

being a comprehensive conversion. The stock sub frame

is replaced with a TYGA one and all the electrical and

other components have new homes on this to allow for

the more slim style seat cowling. The seat cowling itself

consists of main panel which fits over the sub frame and

incorporates a seat support. The front section slides over

special bushes which are mounted to the sub frame

mounting bolts to allow for fitment and removal without

the need to disturb the sub frame. Also, to make jetting

changes easier, the tank too can be removed without

need to remove the seat cowling. The under tray tidies

up the underside and a TYGA seat pad is secured by Vel-

cro in the normal TYGA style.

The taillight is our usual LED design and as well as the

taillight, there is a registration holder to which indicators

could be mounted if required. These parts can be substi-

tuted for the original Aprilia light pod which fits under

the tail in exactly the same way as on the stock bike. This

might be handy to comply with regulations.

For the race version of the kit, we supply a race upper

with no headlight holes and the seat cowling is supplied

without the taillight and the registration holder and

blanking cover is secured in their place

Made from lightweight GRP using top quality epoxy

resins and 200 gram mat, the panels are very strong

and flexible. The kit is much lighter than the parts they

replace and when we get the opportunity we will do

some weight comparisons. As well as offering practical

improvements over the stock bodywork, we hope that

the sleek design will be appealing to Aprilia enthusiasts

and our loyal TYGA customers..

HONDA CBR125R/CBR150R/250R

Honda are expecting big things from their little Honda

when it goes on sale across the World. We have a wide

and growing range of products which we will continue

to add to during 2011 and beyond.

So what have we been doing? Well, after a close ex-

amination of the 250, and

although it has some nice

touches such as the instru-

ments, it definitely has a

bit of budget look about it.

The cast foot peg hangers

are particularly nasty. We

therefore developed the more elegant and lightweight

step kit you see here. Not only does it look nicer but it

moves the pegs up and back to give it a slightly more

sporty riding position. Gear shifts are slick and smooth

and the step kit is supplied with a rear brake light switch

holder so you just unhook the stock switch from the

stock hanger and put it in ours for street riding. The

hangers are supplied with a left carbon heel guard and

for those with deeper pockets or the need for symmetry,

there is an optional right side one too.

In conjunction with the rear sets, we are developing a

set of bars that give the lowest reach that is possible

without clearance issues come into play and serious re-

designing of the bike is called for. Nevertheless, these

bars give a useful 20 mm lower reach and are slightly

further forward than the stock bolt upright position. The

position of the TYGA pegs and bars at least allow you

to adopt a more tucked in position when the mood or

circumstances arise.

The bars by themselves do the job, but we couldnt re-

sist the temptation to make a TYGA triple clamp to give

the cockpit a more distinctive and memorable presence

in this area of the bike. The TYGA triple clamp has a re-

movable key holder, so it is ideal for all the budding rac-

ers. The bars and triple clamp can be installed together

or alone in conjunction with the stock parts to give the

widest choice. The bars seen here are just the basic de-

sign and the production ones will be somewhat sexier.

Moving across the bike, we have added some carbon

touches. The tank cover is obvious but the front fender

and rear hugger less so. These are available individually

or as a set and we will be adding more carbon items

from time to time. We have also added a couple of gen-

uine Honda accessories such as the tank protector and

the front master cylinder reservoir cap.

The styling on the 2011 CBR250R is controversial at best,

and bit of mess as seen from certain angles at worst

this part of the bike is ugly and should go.

Then there is the weight issue. The bike hides its weight

well on the move, but with relatively low power and

weighing as much as a sports 600, any weight saving

is welcome., Apart from the weight saving of the pas-

senger themselves, there is a lot more to be saved from

removing the stock seat cowling, taillight, huge metal

subframe that holds the lights and the solid cast grab

rails and passenger peg assemblies. Replace these parts

with the TYGA seat cowling, LED tail light and exhaust

stay and bingo! your bike now weighs a whole 2 kg or

4.5 pounds less and looks a whole lot better. You still

have access to the luggage compartment which is actu-

ally increased in size now the huge taillight scaffolding

has been removed and your bike now is lot more easy

on the eye so it is win win all the way.

Installation of the kit is really easy and you only need a

few basic tools. The biggest job is removing all the stock

Honda ballast.

The bike shown here is our project bike with all the oth-

er TYGA goodies installed. We obviously needed to pres-

ent the bike with an exhaust system to help accentuate

the weight saving. This system is a slip on link pipe with

an open Moto Maggot. it has a truly obnoxious deafen-

ing sound that wouldnt be legal anywhere except on

the moon.

As well as the bodywork and exhaust, this bike has been

modified using our other TYGA Performance and Honda

products

HONDA CBR 250RR MC22

The TYGA T8 Fairing compliments our existing RC211V

style upper fairing in our current line up for the MC22

CBR250RR. It can be bought as part of a complete

body kit, or just the upper fairing and associated parts

(headlight, screen and

meter stay) Like the pre-

vious upper fairing, this

product is designed to fit

to a totally stock MC22

with minimum chang-

es and retains the original Honda mirror stay and

mirrors. It can also be installed with stock Honda

lowers or Tyga ones made to the same design.

This kit will totally transform an MC22 from an early

1990s design to something which is something bang

up to date

The fairing is designed to be stylish and functional and

provides good wind protection for maximum perfor-

mance and comfort. To allow for ease of fitment and to

avoid compromising looks, a replacement meter stay is

provided which will also freshen up the appearance if

the existing one has been in accident or starting to cor-

rode.

Although this kit is very competitively priced, it is made

of the best quality components. The fairing is made from

epoxy resins and high quality cross weave mat, hand

laid up to a very high standard both inside and out.

The panel is delivered sanded and primed with minimal

preparation required before painting. The headlight is a

modern multi refractor lightweight plastic type, the me-

ter stay laser cut and all fasteners needed to mount this

kit are either supplied or utilise existing ones from the

MC22 for a hassle free installation.

For those owners who want to enhance the looks and

the performance of their CBR250RR further, Tyga Perfor-

mance provide a wide range of other products dedicat-

ed to this model such as the bolt on silencer as the obvi-

ous enhanced looks, gives

a deep and satisfying howl

which would fool most

people into thinking this

bike was a lot more than a

250. Well, until the throttle

was opened to 18,000

whereby the sound is more reminiscent of a F1 car than

a superbike. We also provide brake lines, carbon covers

for the tank filler cap and the instrument surround and a

carbon option for the front fender.

The MC22 is a very capable motorcycle and is built to a

much higher specification than most other models for

the same budget. With this kit installed, not only will it

look way more impressive than the alternatives, but it

will rival many larger capacity sportsbike for attention

wherever it is ridden.

HONDA CBR400 RR NC23

Here are some pictures of the CBR 400 RR NC23 body kit.

The NC23 CBR400RR which is still a popular model bike

in some countries. It was produced between 1988 and

1989 with very minor differences. In 1990, the NC29 re-

placed the NC23 and the two can easily be distinguished

because of their frame and swing arm designs. Having

seen our body kits for other 400s, many NC23 owners

have requested that we make a kit for their bike and even

though this model is over 20 years old, the proportions

are such that we were able to come up with a design

which we hope looks both contemporary but not fussy.

It has design influences from the latest CBR range as well

as the RC211V. We also did our best to keep a few cues

from the original styling job of 20 years ago.

The kit consists of some familiar looking TYGA Perfor-

mance components. The upper fairing design is closely

based on the MC22 T8 upper cowling and varies only in

detail to suit the proportions of the bigger 400. The lower

cowling and side vents are closely modelled on the origi-

nal Honda lowers, however, there have been subtle and

important changes to the leading edge and rear sections

to make them suit the more aggressive and modern style

of the upper cowling. The instruments are supported on

the stock Honda meter stay though they are slightly re-

positioned but the upper stay is replaced by a TYGA one

as part of the kit and the original Honda mirrors retained.

The fairing is supplied with mounting hardware and is

easily mounted and removed. The original air ducts are

removed and replaced with a console which attaches to

the frame and the fairing to tidy this area of the bike up.

The headlight is the now familiar TYGA Eyes III and the

screen is a cut down version of the T8 screen used on the

MC22.

The stock seat cowling is replaced with a TYGA RC211V

style unit. However, the stock Honda battery box and

sub frame remain in place with just repositioning of CDI

and regulator/rectifier to allow for fitment of the slimmer

seat cowling. The rear lower section of the sub frame is

tidied up with a rear fender/luggage tray/tail light unit.

The twin round tail light unit echoes the original NC23

twin tail light unit while at the same time is contempo-

rary in design with modern sports bikes. The rear fender

has mounting points for the original rear reflector and

rear indicators and the front headlight can be supplied

with optional built-in indicators. A feature of this seat

cowling is the cover of the luggage compartment shown

in the photos to give the rear section of the bike cleaner

lines. The stock passenger seat pad can be used instead

and fitted in seconds and as an option for the kit we will

be supplying aluminium foot peg hangers with pegs to

replace the now on view fold way steel NC23 ones. Our

bike is shown in the pictures for single rider use with no

passenger pegs and the passenger seat cover replacing

the passenger seat pad.

For racers out there, we offer a race fairing and by re-

moving the rear fender/ tail light section it is possible

to quickly transform the bike into the makings of a track

day weapon.

The front fender is our popular RC211V style one and can

be ordered in carbon as an optional extra. Other TYGA

products shown on this bike include the silencer which

as been mated to a custom built section of stainless steel

exhaust pipe to allow fitment of the spring mounts. The

HRC rear brake reservoir kit is supplied in the seat cowl-

ing kit. Also fitted are TYGA CNC levers, TYGA brake ro-

tors and carbon instrument surround, tank cap cover and

carbon front brake reservoir.

CBR 400 RR NC29

It was only natural to follow the NC30 and the NC35

with a RC211V style body kit for the NC29,

A keen observer might note that the front fairing is simi-

lar to our other 400 fairings whilst the tail cowling bears

more similarity with the CBR250RR kit.

We wanted to thoroughly modernise the looks of the

NC29 and had many requests to make the V4 fairing fit

the CBR but we also received many requests to retain

some of the practicality of the stock bike. Most impor-

tantly, we decided to keep the stock sub frame which

meant that passenger carrying capability as well as the

useful luggage area retained which appealed to many

people. The other great benefit is that it is less compo-

nents need so it keeps the cost down, making the seat

cowling set a very affordable piece of kit even though it

is tricked out with carbon, LED tail light and HRC brake

reservoir.

For the front fairing we chose to junk the stock hard-

ware and use components more TYGA in theme. The

fairing is mounted on a lightweight custom aluminium

meter stay via the spigot and tube method which we

use on our RVF kit. This allows for ease of fitting and removal and is very secure when fitted. The top of the fairing is held in place by one of our

lightweight upper stays in the Moto GP style and mostly the rest of the fairing is held in place using existing mounting points.

The front of the upper cowling features a new headlight which is similar in shape to the ones used by the RC211V when it was first launched at

Suzuka. It gives the bike a more aggressive stance than the previous TYGA Eyes II. But because customisation is about choice and individuality,

this upper front is actually interchangeable with the NC35 TYGA Eyes Upper as well as the NC35 race upper so it is possible to fit one of any of the

three uppers to the kit. The air duct and screen are identical to our other kits so there is the usual choice of carbon and glass for the air duct and

tint or clear for the screen.

This time we went one further on the carbon and decided to add more. The upper side panels have carbon carburettor covers. There is also the

choice of a completely carbon lower cowling and front fender. The seat cowling front section, unlike the CBR250RR is carbon as is the rear of the

under tray/fender. It looks too good to cover with a registration plate so we didnt!

HONDA VFR 400 NC30

When the RC211V was released to the Worlds media in late 2001, it was the biggest sensation in racing motorcycle design this millennium.

Nothing has really come close in terms of impact both visually and technically and few were surprised when it went on to win the first two

Moto GP championships.

There are also a couple of other good reasons to make a RC211V replica with race only bodywork. One is, that we wanted to show what

you can achieve for a track day

The kits can be ordered with a choice of tinted and clear screen options. We have designed the fairing to be in keeping with any of our

seat cowling sets including, two seat, stock shape, and RC211V style. This adds to the many combinations of TYGA bodywork available for

these models and there is now something to suit all tastes.

Below are some pictures of our RC211V style seat cowling range for the NC30. We have incorporated as many of the comments and feed-

back that we received from owners, observers, critics etc and this is the result. There are three different kits available, similar to our NC35

kits . A street kit with carbon, a race kit in all GRP, and a budget street kit which uses the same GRP seat cowling as the race one but includes

the street parts found with the carbon seat cowling. The first three sections show the three kits unpainted and mounted on an NC30.

Les radical is the new TYGA T10 fairing we will be introducing to our range of bodywork options for the VFR400R and RVF400 models. The

kit gives the bike an up-to-date appearance while remaining faithful to the original design by retaining the stock shaped lowers and the

familiar twin radiator outlet air ducts. The fairing can be used on both the NC30 and NC35, the differences between the two kits being the

mounting hardware for the respective models.

Here we have the latest incarnation of our long term NC30 test

bike. In general, our goal has always been to make our projects

either more radical, higher performing or more modern looking

than the bike it was based on. In this case, we have responded

to mails requesting something less radical but at the same time,

more visually striking and certainly more high performing. The

concept is to make an everyday road bike that will feel equally at

home commuting.

As usual with our projects, the most obvious modification to this

bike is the bodywork. This VFR400R uses the popular T10 front

fairing and the Twin Seat cowling which were introduced to our

range earlier this year. The kits retain the use of the Honda sub

frame, seats, mirrors and most other components but the kit are

supplied with all the other parts needed to complete the trans-

formation. Some aspects of the bikes styling remain unchanged

from when this bike was built in 1989, such as the fuel tank and

the lower cowling. The fuel tank looks very dated but equally dis-

tinctive and we make no excuses for retaining the 1980s quirky

bits like the breather hose on the top of the tank and the analog

instruments.

The next best thing to a stock NC30 is my stock 1988 RC30; so I

included a photo showing the two to compare how the two bikes

compare and contrast. Frame, engine and chassis, lower cowling

and fuel tank components are pretty similar but the differences

are very obvious too.

Like most modern designs, the T10 upper cowling uses a modern

reflective type twin headlight set up rather than the original glass

refractive round headlights so popular 20 years ago. It is a deriva-

tive of our T8 fairings used on other model bikes and we have

adapted it to fit the NC30 and match the stock lower fairing. The

stock mirrors are mounted on a TYGA upper stay and the instru-

ments on a TYGA meter stay which eliminates the ugly external

front mounting point. Being a two piece, the fairing is quick and

easy to install and remove and there are less joins than stock to

spoil the lines. The screen is a TYGA design and is available tinted

and clear.

The seat cowling is our answer to people who liked the 400 TYGA

tail but wanted to carry a passenger. By retaining the stock sub

frame without any modifications required, it is easy to replace the

stock plastic on the bike with the TYGA Twin version. The seat cowl-

ing is supplied with a special under tray/ battery holder which also

incorporates the rear turn signals and the seat cowling has a modern

LED taillight fitted. We leave the front indicators to be sourced by the

customer. The original ones could be reinstalled, flush mounted ones

or LEDs on stalks sourced etc. Rounding off the bodywork modifica-

tions, is the RC211V style front fender.

Performance enhancements for this bike are subtle but extensive. A

TYGA full race system with a new type of carbon silencer with a car-

bon end cap is responsible for most of the increase in power. The air

box is a carbon one with 6% extra capacity,

To balance the improved power, we were tempted to go for some radi-

cal chassis changes but instead settled for improvements on the stock

set up. The forks are held in a place with a TYGA billet CNC machined

top triple clamp which is both lighter and stronger than the stock one

it replaces. To add to the aesthetics of the cockpit area, the front brake

reservoir lid was replaced with a TYGA one and the instruments fitted

with a carbon surround. The rear suspension is stock but despite the

age it still work surprisingly well. To continue with the performance

enhancements, the bike is fitted with a TYGA step kit which makes for

a more sporty riding position but, perhaps more importantly, allows

very precise and slick gear changes. The bike also has our TYGA CNC

brake and clutch levers.

Other modifications include the replacement of stock items with

TYGA carbon products. The frame in-fills, the chain guard and the ex-

haust hanger are all TYGA and other TYGA carbon parts used to finish

off the project include the engine armour and the fuel cap cover as

well as optional carbon side covers on the seat cowling. The changes

are subtle but effective and the aim is to have a motorcycle with no

areas on show with worn or cheap looking components

In conclusion, if you have an NC30 or fancy a V4 but want it to be a

bit more modern looking and better performing but not give up any

of the original character and practicality then hopefully this will give

you some ideas to show the potential of what can be done. This type

of project can be equally performed on an all original perfect bike and

the stock parts carefully removed and put into storage, or a straight

accident damaged wreck and all the others in between. In any case,

modifying the NC30 is nearly as rewarding as riding it and with the

twin seat cowling.

SUZUKI RGV 250 VJ22

The Suzuki RGV 250 project was initiated at the request of RGV owners, most notably the members

of the www.rgv250.co.uk forum who have given us lots of ideas on what they would like us to make

and how they would like it to look.

We will be offering three different kits for the seat cowling, street with carbon, street in glass and

race in glass. We also have a race and a street kit for the fairing, though they differ only in the street

kit having a headlight

With the continual popularity of 250 production racing around the World, and particularly the wide

level of support in the Formula 250 Series in the UK, we thought it would be opportune to make a

basic 250 production race bike based on the VJ22. The VJ22 is a favourite in this class of racing glob-

ally and with the launch of our new VJ22 GP style bodywork, it seemed a good starting point.

We fitted the race version of our GP bodywork which is made from much lighter components than

the ones they replace. The sub frame is a fraction of the weight of the stock one and the lightweight

epoxy resin/glass panels are strong and wont cost a fortune when you crash. The seat cowling kit

is supplied with an auto lube container, but because we are running premix, this was not fitted and

the under tray cut down in this area for better access and looks.

The seat cowling set is supplied with a seat pad which is attached by Velcro for easy removal. This

means that it is reusable unlike most stick on pads which are destroyed when you try to remove

them for repainting or repair work. The seat cowling set is supplied with an exhaust stay but be-

cause we are running side by side chambers, we needed to install a second one on the left side. You

need to cut a slot in the seat cowling underneath for the second stay (The right side stay has a slot

already cut for it).

We are running mild steel side by side chambers which are the racers choice. They give the same

power as the other TYGA chambers offered but being mild steel are inexpensive to replace, and

the side by side configuration is favoured by many as the least likely to be damaged in the event

of a low side. We chose aluminium silencers because, again, they are inexpensive and are relatively

strong.

The bike is fitted with a TYGA Step kit. The position is raised and more rearward compared to the

stock pegs and the levers operate on twin bearings for smooth and precise gear changes and can

be installed in either a racing or stock shift pattern.

We also fitted a lightweight aluminium TYGA upper fairing stay and a carbon tank filler cover for

cosmetic reasons.
