TXG >The efficient way to control a site wide emergency management system TXG >The efficient way to control a site wide emergency management system

Tyco Expert Graphics is a fully featured emergency management system that has been specifically

designed to present alarm information clearly and precisely, to speed up response times and

ensure that the most appropriate response decisions are made.

    Single or Multiple Operator System

TXG is a true client server based systemmeaning that one server-held databasecan be accessed by a number of operatorworkstations and PC’s. Multiple dedicatedoperator workstations can be positionedon-site in multiple locations for use bysecurity and emergency managementpersonnel. In addition non-dedicated PC’scan be connected via the IT network orremotely over the internet for remotesystem management or maintenancepurposes. As the system is supported by a singledatabase any changes made areimmediately to all the users of the system. This can dramatically reduce systemmaintenance costs.

    Designed for Emergency Management

TXG is designed specifically for managingfire alarms and other emergencies. It is fully integrated with redundantcommunications to existing and new firealarm panels and provides a speciallydesigned user interface arranged to beeasy and intuitive to operate for crewand other emergency responders. The user interface is designed to bespecifically suitable for operating via atouch screen with gloved hands and canbe installed in such a way that thesoftware program cannot be accidentallyshut down. Integration features such asvideo, email and analogue data are donein such a way that it is optimised for usein emergency situations.

    Features:

    ■ Provides annunciation, statusdisplay, and control in both normaland emergency situations

    ■ Developed by Tyco specifically toprovide monitoring and control offire protection life safety systems

    ■ Supports a range of fire detectionsystemsMinerva® MXMinerva®Simplex 4100 range 4100, 4120,4020,4100Uwith upgrade paths to 2120Zettler ZetfasWormald PBS16Tyco Fast 2000

    ■ Multiple workstations can beconfigured for specific functions orredundant operation

    ■ Single monitor or two monitor (text and graphics) support at eachworkstation

    ■ Link up with I.P. CCTV camera systems,no additional wiring, reducedinstallation cost for a fully integratedfire/CCTV system

    ■ Compatible with Flamevision® FV300array based IR flame detectors withbuilt in CCTV

    ■ MX Hotspot, chromatic analoguedisplay. Programmable tracking ofanalogue values. Changes displaycolour in response to changes inanalogue value from a selectednumber of MX devices

    ■ Trending diagrams of analoguevalues helps reduce maintenancetime and cost

    ■ Export analogue values to Excel forin depth analysis

    ■ Audio descriptions of screens canbe played when they are displayedor played when an event occurs

    ■ High level user interface allows enduser to make changes to pointattributes and layout further reducinglifetime cost of ownership

    Video Verification

The IP Video feature allows real-timeimages of the area at risk to be displayedin the event of an alarm or fault. Video capture of the affected area appearson the TXG screen automatically, allowing the severity of the situation tobe assessed quickly and the appropriateexecutive action to be taken. For less serious incidents, expensiveand unnecessary plant shut downs canbe avoided. In more critical situations, accurate information can be quickly andefficiently communicated to the responseteam and provide the opportunity toreduce financial loss and greatlyimprove safety.

We’re riding a wave in Emergency Management Systemsfor the international marine business

Working in partnership with Ship’s Operators, Tyco Marine Services have

designed the Tyco Expert Graphics (TXG) System to incorporate ‘State-of-

the-art’ fire system monitoring that is presented in an easy to use format

making it obvious to users where a problem has occured.

Designed to work with our T2000 Analogue/Addressable control panel,

the graphic displays can automatically change colour depending on the

situation (e.g. temperature or smoke levels) to enable better emergency

response. In addition when an incident occurs as well as displaying the

information audio messages can also be played.

By networking TXG workstations crew can immediately see what is

happening and plan their response from multiple locations on board the

vessel. TXG interfaces with many systems so e.g. CCTV pictures can be

displayed along with graphics and text messages.

TXG - How it all comes together

…From a Single Fire Alarm PanelConnected to a TXG Server…The modest additional cost of a single TXG client/server is easily justified when the benefitsthat a Graphical User Interface bring are considered.

...To a Complex installation with multiple Diverse Networks and Distributed Clients

Large ship facilities may havea number of fire detectionnetworks, possibly installedover an extended period oftime. TXG can be used as ahub to integrate thesesystems with a numberclients providing annunciationand control where it is needed.

    Long Term Support

Tyco Expert Graphics providesannunciation, status display, and controlfor various fire detection and alarmsystems including Minerva® MX networksincorporating the latest MX Technology®fire detection. It also supports thepredecessor Minerva® fire detectionsystems thus ensuring that future updatesfrom Minerva® to MX Technology® canbe accommodated. TXG also has thecapability to interface with various otherlegacy fire detection panels and offersinterfaces to Zettler® Zetfas andWormald® PBS as standard. This levelof flexibility ensures that TXG can beused to manage mega yachts or largecruise ships with a variety of fire andemergency systems.

Support for two monitors. Typically onemonitor displaying the graphics and asecond monitor displaying the currentalarm/event list.

    Simplification

Much of the work involved in configuringTXG has been simplified through theautomatic import of panel configurationsand the ability to use a wide range ofinput data file types including GIF, JPG,bitmap, AutoCAD®, Vector and WAV files.

System maintenance can be carried outvia the high level user interface with theability to edit the position and attributesof point icons as well as make changes todrawing layouts. As well as simplifyingmaintenance, being a true client serverapplication means that a number of on-siteor off-site workstations can interrogate thedatabase with pre-defined security levelsto facilitate the required combination ofaccess and control.

    TXG is totally Scaleable

TXG uses theanalogue values from smoke, temperatureor gas sensors to adjust the colour of azone. This not only helps with verificationof emergency situations but provides aquick visual indication to EmergencyResponders and Security personnelwhether or not it is safe to enter an areaduring emergency situations.

    CCTV Integration

TXG is compatible with AmericanDymanics Intellex® or Axis IP camerasand Video IP servers and can be used forintegrating new or existing CCTV systems.

    Notification by Email

When an events occurs TXG can sendnotification texts by email or SMS to apredefined group of people when anevent occurs. On a day to day basis thiscan automate first line response to faultsand during emergencies can alertpersonnel, on and off site, to selectedevents and emergencies.

    Audio Notification

Audio files can be played in response tospecific user interface screens or specificevents. This ensures that emergencysituations are quickly drawn to theattention of key staff and that new orinexperienced staff are quickly remindedof the required response.

REASONS why you need TXG Emergency Management System

TXG >The efficient way to control a site wide emergency management system

    System Management

An Emergency Management System allowsusers to manage their fire alarm systemefficiently from one or more convenientlocations. Each workstation provides fullcontrol of the fire detection system, whether connected to a single panel ormulti panel network. All event information, current and historical is available with theclick of a mouse.

    Ease of Use

TXG is a Microsoft Windows® basedEmergency Management System. It provides a familiar, user friendly workingenvironment that requires less specialistknowledge than is required to operate atypical fire alarm control panel.

    Speed and Accuracy

Speed and accuracy in response to analarm signal is of paramount importance. An Emergency Management Systemprovides clear and unambiguousinformation in the event of an alarm, allowing the most appropriate executiveaction to be taken quickly.

    Flexibility

Over time a ship’s occupancy and usemay change and systems need to adaptaccordingly. An Emergency managementSystem can be easily programmed andmodified to reflect any changes made.
