Fight Procedures• Unfortunately, IT happens • Try and remain calm • Get on your whistle • One official needs to freeze
the benches • Only separate if you feel
safe to do so • Come together and take a
breath before adjudicating penalties, resuming play, etc…
Tips for Success
Each assignment you work is an audition
Look the part – dress, demeanor, discipline.
Tips for Success
Mistakes are made and we make them every game.
If you make one, make it for the right reason. If you
clearly have made one, own up!
Tips for Success
Impersonations won’t work.
You referee who you are. (By the way, who are you?)
Tips for Success
It takes a support team to reach the higher elevations.
Remember where you came from and who broke the trail
for you.
Tips for Success
Fair-minded, accountable, decisive: the hallmarks of the very finest officials…
(and leaders).
In the crucible of officiating you mold and
temper skills for a lifetime.
This concludes the presentation.
