Registration – 40th Anniversary Red Eagle Reunion, 8-11 November 2018
Red Eagles and Guests -- 2018 marks the 40th Anniversary of the official Red Eagle ‘start date’.
We are celebrating with a Reunion – you have TWO registering things you need to do: Register for a
hotel room and register for the Reunion - this epistle is somewhat long; BUT, it provides you the
important stuff – PLEASE READ all of it – then, read it again!
1. HOTEL:
A. Arizona Charlie’s, Decatur Blvd, Las Vegas NV
B. Hotel Reservation is separate from Reunion Reservation. Call the Arizona Charlie’s
Reservation Center – 800-342-2695 – refer to group code C-4477 or simply mention Red
Eagles Alumni Reunion. Expect room rates (tax is included) as follows: 8 Nov - $45.20; 9 Nov
$73.45; 10 Nov - $84.75; 11 Nov - $45.20. The Vegas standard ‘resort fee’ has been waived.
2. REUNION:
A. Check-in: Opens on Thursday evening, 5:00 pm, Hospitality Suite on 7th Floor. Resumes on
Friday afternoon at 3:00 pm, at Hospitality Suite. If you are a Saturday arrival, check the
Hospitality Suite - someone will be there to take care of you! If you are a Sunday arrival –
you are too late! IMPORTANT: Access to the 7th Floor is restricted - you will need your
room card or (if you are not staying at Arizona Charlie’s) a special card provided by the desk.
B. Registration: SEE PAGE THREE for Registration Form and ‘How to’ information
C. Cost: Reunion registration is $100. Registration entitles you to the Saturday night Reunion
Banquet at the Elks Club and a weekend’s worth of the hospitality suite (and all it has to
offer!). If you choose not to participate in one or both – registration is still $100. Note: If
you are a dues paid up Member of the Red Eagle Alumni Association, your cost is $85. All
other events are ala carte – see the registration form.
D. Agenda:
1. Thursday, 8 Nov: Hospitality Suite opens mid afternoon – that’s it for Thursday!
2. Friday, 9 Nov:
a. Hospitality Suite opens late morning
b. Late morning - Nellis Visit to tour the Glenn ‘Pappy’ Frick Threat Training Center
(Petting Zoo) which features a Red Eagle Area – If interested, please indicate so on
the registration form. Round trip bus/van transportation ($25/person) will be
available – personal transportation is also ok. Nellis access requires either a military
ID or prearranged listing for non-ID folks. If you even think you are interested, sign
up – we are dealing with the Air Force bureaucracy - it’s easier to delete than to
short notice add – we’ll refund your $25!
c. 6:00pm - Nevada Aerospace Hall of Fame (NVAHoF) Banquet – 4477th TES Red
Eagles are being inducted into the NVAHoF - Arizona Charlie’s Ballroom. The Red
Eagles are being inducted as a group – three other individuals are also being
inducted. Cost to Red Eagles and guest(s) is $40 per person. Dress is business casual
(coat with tie or open collar shirt).
d. Hospitality Suite closes at 5:30 pm and reopens after the NVAHoF Banquet (9:00ish)
– then, open until whenever.
3. Saturday, 10 Nov:
a. Hospitality Suite opens late morning (unless it never closed from Friday Night!)
b. 9:00 Golf – Cost $80ish; course TBD. Sign up on registration if interested - Golf Guru
Bob ‘Gibo’ Gibeault will tabulate and determine if enough interest warrants this
event. Pay your $80 now – Gibo will adjust when cost is actually determined and
refund/collect more, as may be required. Cancellations will be refunded up to one
week prior (3 Nov) – shorter notice refunds will be accommodated only if the course
doesn’t charge us for your cancelled tee time. Again, cancelling is much easier than
trying to add a tee time on short notice, so, if interested – sign up now!
c. 4:00 pm – REAA Business Meeting/Election of three Board Members – Hospitality
Suite. Looking for volunteers to run!
d. 6:00 pm - Red Eagle Reunion Banquet at Elks Lodge, 4100 W Charleston Blvd,
(approximately 5 minutes from Arizona Charlie’s) – Transportation is your
responsibility. Speaker is Chuck Magill, USMC MiG Killer in First Gulf War, who
recently retired as Sr VP of Operations, Southwest Airlines. Dress: Men - slacks and
sport/dress shirt (Red Eagle golf shirts are ok!) Ladies – you all will figure it out!
Note: we are ordering a selection of Red Eagle golf shirts to sell at the reunion –
color choices are red or black – if you would like to get one (or more), indicate size
and color on the registration form – we’ll reserve your order for you to pick up at
the reunion – cost is $35 per shirt.
e. Hospitality Suite closes whenever
4. Sunday, 11 Nov: Check out – Note: The Las Vegas Veteran’s Day Parade starts at 9:45
am – it our Nation’s second largest ---- FYI.
5. NEW ITEM (Added 28 August) – A QUESTION has been asked, “If we want to bring a
guest to the Saturday Night Banquet only, do they have to pay the entire $100
registration fee? ANSWER: No, the cost for a guest to the Saturday Night Banquet is
$40. This option only applies to guests – it does not apply to Red Eagles, their significant
others, or any other person registering for our reunion, even if they are choosing to not
partake of the hospitality suite or attend the Saturday Night event. The registration form
(page 3) has not been modified to accommodate this issue – if this is applicable, simply
add to the total, as appropriate, and let Admiral know via a short accompanying note.
