TWO FROZEN FOOD BOOKLETS

Broadening the scope of its publications program, the National Frozen Food Association, Inc., recently released two new booklets to its almost 1200 members. Diverse in nature, "The Retail Market for Frozen Foods" and "Publications for the Frozen Food Industry" are both designed as guides.

The 36-page "Retail Market for Frozen Foods," while containing statistical information about the past and present, addresses itself to the future. As food consumption is directly related to people, this study first turns to demographic, economic and sociological conditions likely to prevail a decade from now. From this information a number of conclusions about the future of retail frozen foods are drawn. Appearing as either charts, graphs, or dollar figures, inferences drawn from the study are detailed under such categories as: Retail sales; Frozen food products, Consumer spending for frozen foods, Distribution of grocery purchasers by category, Consumer spending for grocery products, Product groups as a ~ of total display area, Per family consumption of frozen foods, Retail frozen food sales by region and state.

This long awaited publication is being made available on an industry- wide basis.

"Publications for the Frozen Food Industry" is a bibliography of frozen food publications. It is believed to be the first publication of this nature in the industry and attempts to fill a long standing communications gap. Its listings include over 75 hard cover frozen food publications in print since 1965. Categories included are : Brokerage, Distribution, History, Management, Marketing, Merchandising, Packaging, Packing, Prepara- tion, Refrigeration and Warehousing. In addition, a separate listing con- tains over 125 current periodicals of specific interest to the various seg- ments of the frozen food indusry.
