With the Latest set of Epic TCGs Expansion only a few short weeks away, TwinFu sat down with creator Rob Dougherty and got some info on Time Wars including a batch of Sneak Previews on two major archetypes, as well as an overview of the latest mechanic Swarm and how it will rock the Epic Constructed Format.

ULTRARARES

Although the set has been shrouded in darkness over the past two months we have been able to obtain new information regarding details in the set along with a few design components from the set itself. First off 174 is the correct set size, people had been discussing why it was larger and what was the point of making it larger than the 150 that had been stated from other locations. The reason for the big change is this set will be including a new Rarity class called Ultra-Rare.

Ultra-Rare Epic cards will be in the set replacing the slot of a standard Rare in the pack and will be in box intervals of one specifi c Ultra-Rare for every fi ve boxes. And of course they are amazing as compared to their rare counterpart.

PURE DECKBUILDING WILL MAKE YOUR DECKS BETTER.ORACLESPROPHETS

Oracles and Prophets should do well in new constructed, the idea behind them is they function like Sage/Druid from the original set, but they are bigger sometimes with added abilities like Swarm in the Prophets case, or added abilities like on the Oracle cards, but the main difference is they care about if they match up exactly with the card you are peaking at which can be a positive and a negative.

Since the cards are all Free cards they can be straight card advantage if you have made your deck a Pure version either playing all Magical cards if you are playing Oracles or all Natural Cards if your deck is playing Prophets. Either way, these card drawing bad boys should be an auto include in the future of constructed gaming!

“CHOOSING HOW AND WHAT TO BLOCK BECOMES TOUGHER...”SWARM

SWARM the newest keyword for Time Wars will have an signifi cantimpact for constructed play.

First is how Swarm works, bascally after attacks are declared and blocks are set a player may expend the champion to increase the value of the attack to the opposing player for unblocked creatures, and this can be applied even to untargetable creatures.

Or an alternate scenario would be when the Swarm creature pumps total attack points applied to a blocking creature if the opponent has some type of battle before damage resolves.
