Generally, this is a responsible and safe thing to do, however if you park in the drop and gosecon of the school car parking and leave your car to walk your child to their class, you run the risk of being fined. If you want to park your car and walk into the school with your child, please make sure you are parked in a suitable car park. Car Parking Over the past week, I have noticed that many parents are leaving their cars and walking their children into the school. Generally, this is a responsible and safe thing to do, however if you park in the ‘drop and go’ section of the school car parking and leave your car to walk your child to their class, you run the risk of being fined. If you want to park your car and walk into the school with your child, please make sure you are parked in a suitable car park. The council are out in force and will book people who do not follow the signs.

Curriculum Day Yesterday on our Curriculum Day, our staff participated in professional development on Managing Challenging Behaviours, through Rod Catterall and Associates and facilitated by Heather and Steve. It was a very insightful day that allowed us to explore how to best manage students whose behaviour can at times be challenging. As a community it is everyone’s responsibility to do our best to work with all of our students to ensure that they understand and follow our school values to ensure everyone can get the best possible educational outcomes.

SCHOOL PHOTOS School photos will be taken on Tuesday 2nd April. Photo envelopes and more information will be sent home soon.

BEFORE SCHOOL SUPERVISION There are quite a few students arriving at school early each morning. It is not safe for students to be in the school yard unsupervised and it is also concerning to see a number of students walking to school alone early, sometimes at around 8am!

Classrooms are open from 8.45am, Fun & Fitness is on in the MPC and Breakfast Club is in the art room from 8.30am each day. Any students who are at school between 8.30 and 8.45am must attend Fun & Fitness or Breakfast Club as there are no teachers on duty in the yard during this time. Students should not be at school earlier than 8.30am, unless they are attending Before School Care.

Be on time to start learning by 9!

"J4 had a great time with Harold and Yolanda in the Life Education Van. We learned how to make healthy food choices and how to be a good friend."

Prep and Junior students had fun meeting Harold in the Life Education van.

They learnt about how the human body works, healthy eating and nutrition,

medicines and drugs, bullying, resilience and social skills.

Traffic Safety Concerns please do the right thing for the safety of all Parking around the school is always an issue at drop off and pick up times. Most parents are fabulous and do the right thing every day but get very frustrated by the few who endanger the lives of our students. Our road is a 40 zone at all times to assist with safety. Please make sure you practice safe driving and parking at all times to keep our students safe.

Parents MUST NOT perform u-turns on Coral Drive. There are enough roundabouts to keep the traffic flowing. Do not turn into driveways to turn around either, this causes a risk to students AND blocks the traffic flow.

Wednesday 3rd April

We are recognising World Autism Acceptance Day on Wednesday 3rd April. Everyone is encouraged to wear a hoodie and make a gold coin donation which will be used to support Amaze who are dedicated to helping support people affected by autism.

Why hoodies? Some autistic people experience sensory sensitivities and wearing their hoodie up means they can block out bright lights and busy environments which helps calm them.

By wearing our hoodies, we can show a little more understanding of how we can support and embrace autistic people and celebrate the diversity autism brings to our world.
